Great Tire with great puncture resistance
Got these tires because I tend to ride pavement more than gravel or dirt and they have not disappointed. I made a poor choice in routes one day and pulled out over 25 thorns from the front tire... no flat (I don’t run these tubeless). The back tire had over 30 thorns and although I made it home with close to normal pressure, the tire was flat a few hours later. Still amazing. Tire rolls really well and allows a higher pressure(65-80psi) than some other gravel/road style tires. I will buy these again.
Perfect Upgrade
In 2012 I purchased a Cannondale Quick which came with slick 700 x 32 tires. After buying a Cannondale Synapse Road Bike, I decided to turn my Quick into a Hybrid. I chose these tires after reading other reviews in searching for tires that could transition between smooth and rough surfaces. For my first test ride, I took the bike on local mixed trail (12 MI RT) of asphalt, hardpan, and crushed gravel. I was extremely satisfied as I rode hard through the entire trail. My next ride was 42 MI RT on the Wallkill Trail in NY. Once again, the tires handled the various surfaces without any issues. Extremely satisfied with them.
Great on-road/off-road tire
I have commuted on the USH on a cyclocross bike for nearly 2 years. It rolls excellent on pavement and feels like a much lighter tire, but with the comfort of the extra width and weight. The USH is also very durable; my set have relatively little wear after ~1500 miles, including in the snow. For winter, they shed muck quickly, but the rolling surface is fairly slick, so they handle as would be expected. Off road, they are great for light use--just lower your air pressure. The one drawback I have encountered is that the design on the slick center surface tends to pick up road debris, including glass shards, so flat resistance is average. That said, they mount/dismount easily on H+Son archetype and Velocity A-23 rims and seat perfectly. This is a great all around tire.
Great tires!
I'm a big fan of the Clement line and have used many of their models. The USH is a durable tire for many types of conditions. I've ridden both the 60 and 120 TPI models as my commuting 'go-to' with little issue. I've commuted over 2500 miles to and from Boston since last summer on my Clement USH. They have stood up to the cold, wet weather and harsh road conditions well. The center tread rolls fast at 85-90psi and these tires perform well on softer terrain at 50-60psi. They are not as good as the MSO on loose dirt but they are very capable in non-pavement stretches.
Superb tire for gravel
I bought these to ride over Snoqualmie Pass on the Iron Horse Trail and was extremely impressed. They were very smooth, don't sacrifice much in the way of speed over a more smooth tire surface even on paved surfaces, and they had excellent traction and control even in some of the softer gravel areas. Fantastic tires.
Fast, responsive tire, due to narrow central tread
The tire is on a gravel bike, but spends most of its time on pavement. The shape of the tire puts only two small bands of smooth tread on the road, making the wheel (I have it on the front wheel, only) very responsive to turning (more so than the Schwalbe All-Round that it replaced). I got used to it easily, but it is still more sensitive to turning than the Schwalbe tire. I have not had it on any deep or soft surfaces, but it seems fine on hard-packed crushed gravel rails-to-trails surfaces. Easier to mount than the Schwalbe tire, and it seems to roll with very little resistance.
Great tire for mixed pavement and gravel.
I just put these on last week and have ridden about 50 miles on them. These are a great design - the narrow ridge in the center gives low rolling resistance on the pavement and the heavier tread on the edges works fine in gravel. I ride a mix of pavement and gravel. The comments indicate they can be inflated from 45-105 psi, even though the sidewalls say 45-70. I'm running them at 60 and they are much lower rolling resistance than the more blocky design of the Michelins they replaced. They mounted easily. I'd buy them again.
Nice riding
I bought these tires to go on my commuter bike. I had been running a 28 road tire but I wanted a smoother ride. They have a good feel and the extra rubber even in the corners is great. I also took the bike on a mixed 30 mile mixed gravel/paved ride and the tires we very sure footed in the gravel (loose too.) So far I am very happy with them.
Great for mixed use 300 miles in
I've had these for about a year and a half and about 300 miles on my hybrid/dual-sport bike, and they've been perfect for my needs. Most of my riding time is on paved surfaces, but I try to avoid roads if I have another option, which means these have also seen a lot of gravel paths and dirt trails, both smooth and rough, and have never felt like these tires were too thin or too chunky. Whenever replacement time comes around, these will be at the top of my list. Bike: 2009(?) Gary Fisher Kaitai, replacing WTB 700x38C tires.
Great tires
Picked these up for taking my cross bike on some trails with loose gravel and sand, these outperformed the previous tires I would use. Only downside is traction wet asphalt.
