The windproof, warm, light and compressible Patagonia Nano Puff vest creates an ideal insulation layer under a shell and doubles as a stand-alone wind barrier in warmer conditions.

This is my first synthetic down vest and I understand the popularity of these items. This has been perfect for cool to cold (16C to -2C) temperatures and is easily layered underneath larger jackets when needed. The loft of the jacket is far less than down jackets I've used, but appears to keep me just as warm. The lining helps cut down on wind and gust, but is not windproof. This jacket is perfect in the morning when I'm cooking as I don't have sleeves getting close to any fires. Paired with wool arm warmers makes this my go to before resorting to winter jackets. Sizing feels true to me, consider sizing up one if you plan to have more than a couple layers under this.
This is a nice piece to a layering system. If you use it as a midlayer during high-output activities, it can get pretty damp, however, it will still work when wet. I really like that it packs into it's own inside pocket. Great design... very green product.
I purchased this for my upcomming trip too Glacier National Park. However the weather has been such that I have worn it almost every day as an outter garment. I love it's light weight (thou not in performance) and lack of bulk, very comfortable, wind resistant, and sheds snow easily. Can't wait to get to Glacier.
I really like the vest, the fit and next to nothing weight make it very comfortable. Quality is top notch. I am 6' with 42" chest and 33" waist. The medium fits like a glove. To top it off my wife loves the french red pop of color in my traditionally earth tone wardrobe. Live Bold lol
Not to "puffy" and fits nice under a shell. Size XL is spot on, I'm 6'2" @ 240lbs.
I have much Patagonia clothing in my wardrobe but have found sizing varries by product. Small in a snap down fleece pullover is far different than small in a Nano Puff vest. I had to return my vest. Be sure to try on your choice before you buy.
its great for SF evolving weather, it folds up real small and I loved the price and color !
