Just right
I was concerned about three things and prepared to return this if any were not just right: 1. Color. Wasn’t thrilled with the color choices and went with dark ruby. I do not generally venture into reds for my clothing. The color is a cross between brown and dark purple, think California Raisin. I really like it and it is not too shiny. 2.Length/Size. I have a long torso and long arms. Most coats are not long enough in both areas, this is. I can sit down and not worry about plumbers crack and the sleeves cover my wrists. I usually order a large but ordered an XL so I can wear this over a hoodie in the winter, it will fit over something with weight underneath and still be comfortable. I am 5’5’ and and 170 but look pretty slim. Carry most of my thickness in my belly. 3. Weight. I didn’t want bulky or heavy. Wanted to be able to wear in spring and fall and winter. This is very thin and lightweight but will be warm but not so warm I will be uncomfortable wearing it. The hood has full coverage too.

Sizing Change Alert
I walked into my local REI this early autumn season planning to purchase a Nano Puff Hoody in a women's medium. I love the weight, light insulation, and windproof features of this jacket. At 64 inches tall and 120 lbs, the length is a bit long on me, but I make it work using the lower cinch cord. Well, surprise and great disappointment have caused me to abort my purchase plan. The sizing in the shoulders has changed and shrunk!! Why would Patagonia make the shoulders smaller and tighter for women? After years of comfortable wear for me, this jacket is now too tight across my shoulders. Bummer....

Tried and True

I love my Patagonia Nano Puff. In fact, I love all 4 of mine! Great colors and a perfect fit for my straighter hips and larger upper body. I like the thickness, the warmth and the packablilty. I've used this jacket cycling, hiking, trail walking and for out and about errands. Mine have endured rain, sun, wind, snow and sweat and are still holding up well. I purchased my first Patagonia Puff jacket in 2019 and it's still going strong even after using it to race the Tour Divide - a 2745 mile bikepacking race. Definitely a personal favorite and go to adventure essential. Fits true to size. Great material that holds its color well over time.

Not the same old nano puff 😢

So disappointed. I absolutely loved my previous nano puff hoody. I lived in that thing for more than 10 years. Many times I tried replacing my puffy with other brands but none had the space in shoulders and arms to allow for comfortable layering as my old nano puff hoody. I finally gave in and purchased this new one only for them to have kept the wide body in the abdomen and narrowed the dimension in the shoulders and arm. Side by side comparison my mountain Hardware puffy is more fashionably fitted without the extra space in the abdomen with the same (less than I want) shoulder space. I am returning and hoping I can find an older version of this somewhere.

Bummed about this

Definitely not in love with the fit of this jacket for the price. I usually wear a large and I sized up to an XL for the layering potential.. there is no layering potential. It’s especially tight in the shoulders. Going to try a similar Cotopaxi jacket instead.

Love this puffer!

Can’t go wrong with Patagonia puffy! This is my 3rd jacket of this item and I love that it is packable, light weight, can be worn solo or layered. It provides warmth in 40 degree weather in the PNW weather . I normally wear an XS but sized up to S so I can wear with bulky sweaters. I’m grateful that it isn’t too boxy and the sleeves aren’t too long. I would like to get this jacket in another color.

Tight Shoulders

I had high hopes for this jacket to replace my much loved, very old REI Revelclloud hooded jacket. Unfortunately the shoulders were much too tight even with just a t-shirt underneath. I returned it.

Cozy But WAY Too Small!

Great jacket as normal and the color is to die for, but why is the sizing so incredibly inaccurate? I sized up to a Large (14-16) as I normally fit into 12-14 tops - I wasn’t even able to zip the jacket up! Will most likely be returning to size up another two times!
