My Go to
I love these shorts. They're the first ones I look for when getting dressed to ride. I use them for both the road and trail. I've felt comfortable in them even on 45 mile road rides but I'm not sure they would be great for much longer than 50. I live in AZ and love the shorter length in the heat. These are light material and though not too compressive, the benefit is that they feel as if they're hardly there. The leg openings grip well and the wide waistband is great. I am 5 ft 7, 155lbs and wear a medium.

Cute, but lacking in performance
I love the shorter length on these guys, but I have to say that the chamois leaves quite a bit to be desired. I do long rides a couple times a week, and I can feel the saddle after 10-15 miles in these shorts. It's pretty bad after anything more than that, and I'm ready to tear them off by the time I roll back into my driveway. I wish that PI would make a short in this length but with the PRO chamois!

Nice and short; padding not so good

Bought these today and rode about 15 miles. At about 10 miles I began to feel like the padding just wasn't good enough. I kept shifting around in the seat, standing every so often, and made it back to the car but I was very uncomfortable for the last few miles. I had been wearing padded undershorts with bike shorts over them prior to this - not a gel pad, just a plain one. There is something about the way the PI padding is made - it just doesn't protect in the right places I guess. I love the shorts but not sure if I can keep them. Will try one more ride to decide what to do. Maybe if the padding wasn't so shaped that you have to be in exactly the right spot for it to work? I just can't figure it out. I really wanted to *love* these shorts. :(

Not for Road Biking

The description is right, these will only work for indoor cycling classes. The material is just normal shiny spandex, it is not compressive or supportive at all. The band around the leg was too tight and gave me the thigh bulge. The shorter length is cute but the lack of quality for outdoor riding demands just doesn't cut it.

Love them

I brought these with out seeing the reviews, and glad I had not read the reviews. These shorts are great did a 45 mile ride no problems!! In my other shorts I would have been hurting. I liked them so much that I am getting a second pair.

Returning

When it's 110 in Arizona, you look for the least amount of clothing for your activities. I bought these because they are shorter then my regular PI bike shorts. And that's the only good thing I can say. The fabric makes you slide on the seat, the padding is inadequate - really felt the seat after 10 miles, they bunch up and they start chafing. Pearl Izumi is the brand I normally wear, but these will be returned.

not your mom's bike short

finally a bike short that doesn't make me look like a middle aged house wife while still providing great performance.

Great shorts!

I was a little bit skeptical about these shorts at first, but now I love them. The padding is great, they're shorter than my other shorts so great for summer rides and the waist band is perfect. They did feel a little snug in the thighs at first but now they feel fine. I've worn them in a couple of metric century rides and shorter rides as well, can't complain!

Nice bike shorts

These were my first pair of bike shorts so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they are comfortable. Definitely lots of padding. I like the short length of them as I like to be able to add longer pants if needed or wear them alone during warmer weather.

Great Item

I have started a spin class and it has KILLED me. The reinforced seat and crotch of these shorts are a life saver to me. They fit perfectly, are very comfortable to work out in.
