Rated 2 out of 5 by from didn't work for me The rack fits on my car but I could not get it tight enough. It was easy to put together. I installed it on my car and then placed my bike on it so that I could re-tighten the straps. I cranked those things down and after a 20 mile drive the rack had moved all over the place and I could see where it had been rubbing. I had cleaned the feet and my car prior to installation. When driving you can see the bike wobbling all over. There is no fear of it coming off, but I didn't like the rubbing on my car. I just couldn't get it tight enough so it had to go back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool Design, Limited Capacity! I bought it last Saturday. I painted its metal surface same original colour with my car. It is very cool now. I went out of the city. Gran Fondo has a very attractive design. Everyone was looking at it, behind my car. But it was swinging very much and making me nervous at the beginning of the road. My eyes was at the mirror always. But after some bad road conditions, I calm down. I believe that; It is a really reliable product. If it did not felt down, on the road until now, it will not fall anymore. :) I wish it had 3 bicycle capacity. While I installing it, I saw that one of nuts was corrupted. So I bought a new nut for it. Now no problem at all. Thank You Saris.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for almost everything Amazing product, well planned out! In the first 2 months of owning the rack it traveled over 3000 miles carrying 2 bikes without a single issue. The rack is quicker and easier to load than just about any roof rack, trunk rack, and some trailer hitch racks. There are a couple snags I've ran across carrying mountain bikes. The 26" tire setting only fits tires up to 26x2.2 (depending on tread sometimes 26x2.1) which means you have to use the 29" setting to carry a bike with 26x2.25 or larger tires. That leaves a lot of room for the bike to sway in the wind but the straps keep the wheels securely in place. I've had the rack for 7 months and don't plan on replacing it anytime in the near future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NOT for the Vauxhall/Opel Insignia This DOES NOT fit the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia Hatchback, regardless of what is says on the selector. This looks like a very good product, I only wish I could use it. Only slight negative note is that the plastic moulding for the nylock nuts is not sufficient in some cases to hold the nut and you need to wedge a screwdriver in to stop it turning. This review should not stop you getting one - unless that is you have an Insignia Hatchback and you trust this website. It appears that the UK distributors website is correct, but I didn't know that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from From Equinox to Prius Got this rack because it fit both a Toyota Prius C and a Chevy Equinox. i know! I was amazed too. Easy to put on both cars. Hangs on garage wall otherwise. Looks cool and get lots of comments. Yes the bikes sway, but they are secure. Only negative is when larger framed bike on rack on Prius and going up sudden steep grade (driveway and parking lot entrance), I think the tire may have touched! YIKES, so if you can demo it before purchase, do it. Also, zip locks securing the bike wheels to frame have been cut into by spokes on tires...worried it will be weak there and finish tearing. Also worried the plastic material of the zips is that which easily becomes fragile and breaks.(had snowboard bindings do so at the top of a run, start of the day. :-( )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not only looks cool This is my second one (my ex-wife's hatchback, and now mine.) It looks cool, is easy to take on and off, it protects the bike frame, is very stable, you can open and close the hatch with it on, it doesn't add length to the car without bikes and it's easy to load bikes. My hatch supposedly needs hitch huggers, but it works fine with just the clips, so not sure what that's about. What a great rack. Only drawback is that initial assembly takes a bit of time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost works well! I bought this bike rack to transport my road bike from Louisiana to California. It was expensive. It is relatively easy to place on the back of the car alone even for a woman and I guess my bike made it to the destination, but I was worried about it all the way. The bike was moving quite a bit in the air, kind of like a flag. I know partly it is the design, the way the bike is perpendicular to the back of the car, but still. I ended up tying it tighter by using extra bungie cords. And it was ok I guess, just wasn't sure it was not going to fly off of it from the force of the wind. But my main issue with the rack was that the bottom straps kept sliding off of the door so every time I stopped I had to put them back. That meant that out of the 8 straps that held the rack and the bike two kept getting lose. The angle of the end of the straps seemed to be sharper than the door of my car and they didn't lie flat on the surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my Fiat 500 perfectly So glad I discovered the Gran Fondo. I was getting very frustrated looking for a rack for my Fiat 500. The rack fits my little car perfectly and looks very cool. It's well designed, easy to mount and I love the fact that it's gentle on my carbon fiber frame. On my first trip with the rack I had four people stop to ask about it.

Can this be configured to carry a recumbent tadpole trike with small wheels?
