CAMP's Best Carabiner

IMO this is perhaps the best carabiner CAMP makes. Compact, strong, and reliable. Two of these biners make for the one of the smoothes top rope setups I've ever used. Also use them for self-belay with Petzl's Microcender, Micro Traxion & Tibloc. Much cheaper than Petzl's OK oval, and perhaps a little more symmetrical. CAMP also makes awesome auto-lock versions. As well as non-locking key-lock gate version, which are great for racking nuts.

OK w/screw too loose

Decent oval 'biner except the screw lock is too loose. It unscrews open way to easily. I've used it many times now and has not gotten any better. I have 2 of these so it's not a one-off. Solid and good shape otherwise.

As advertised

Unlike some other locking ovals this is truly symmetric front-to-back, which generally is the point of choosing an oval over a modified D.

Like it for top roping not so much for z-pully

When it's an easy carry in this is my go to carabiner for top roping. True oval that is rounded. I also would love it for a z-pully system because it could be used without out a pully and friction loss could be minimized. The draw back is that it's heavy to carry on a long alpine climb. If you don't mind the weight I think it's the perfect carabiner for a z-pully.

good and strong for pulley rescue

It is a nice oval carabiner. I mainly use them for pulley rescue type of situations. I have also used them on pulleys for ziplining. I don't consider them good all around but for what i use them they are good.
