Used these ponchos to attend the SF Giants Parade in 2014 for the on and off again rain. Worked well for that weather. Pros: - Inexpensive: $5 on 10/30/14 - Compresses down to about 2.5" x 2.5" x 1" when folded up back into the hood. - Lightweight; stored (5) in small backpack with ease. - Buttons along sides for windy conditions. - Large (2) rectangle design (4' x 3') also works well as a 2-ply tarp. Cons: - The hood is quite small. Larger heads will feel squished. Hairstyling not recommended. - Non-existent coverage on legs. - Does not breathe well - worked up a good sweat walking around SF Downtown.
Excellent product (does what it’s supposed to). Head hole is perfect size and the material is much better than a trash bag. Used at a Phillies game and sat through tolerable rain all night. I spread it out over my knees and was bone dry. Quality and price are out of balance in the customer’s favor.
I really love mine. Needed them for 2 days hiking in the fog and drizzle. It fits the bill for a great price, while being reusable and not a throw away item. Cheers for less plastic in the landfills!!
I wore this 3 days in a row to watch an ultimate tournament in Seattle. You can wear your choice of layers underneath and always be comfortable, sitting and standing (don't underestimate the value of having a dry butt and legs). I shifted between a sweatshirt, a north face nanopuff, and a wool overcoat under this fabulous simple item. The hood is small, but I have a pinhead, so not an issue for me, but you can buy a super nice hat if you have only spent $5 on a poncho.
Got this to keep my clothes clean while my son smashes me in the face with a pie. It worked reasonably well. If you’re going to get smashed in the face with a pie, you should get one of these.
Seems large enough and made well. Disposables are so light; one worries about ripping, fumbling to unfurl very thin plastic, and then what to do when there's a break in the rain? The Red Ledge promises to be able to be shaken off, folded, and put back in its pouch, ready for when it starts raining again.
It's in back pack of you need it and doesn't take up too much space
The poncho arrived with five or six holes or slits in the material, down the right hand side. If they're vents, they're pretty irregular, and I have to ask...a poncho with holes in it? If not, then I guess I have a defect and will attempt to return it. See photo.
It works. Doesn't leak. It's cheap. I got it for riding in the rain.
Great for the $$. I wanted a cheap, almost disposable poncho. I always like to have one in my pack. This was perfect
