yoga shorts
I looked for years for shorts to replace the terrific but short and stretchy rock climbing shorts I previously got from REI. The basketball and jogging shorts I bought from them last year just did not stretch enough in some poses. These stretch and are smooth enough to do lunges and pigeon pose without constantly having to readjust ones pants. They are loose enough and cover enough when inverted to provide adequate modesty but are an inch or so too long for my 5'-10" height. Wide elastic waist band rolls and does not stay flat. The fabric does not provide enough friction your arm to have traction in some poses like twisting lunges. These are still the best I have found for yoga without using lycra bicycle shorts.

Zero stretch
Comfortable fabric and spacious pockets make them decent shorts in general, but the lack of any stretchiness (combined with the length) makes them restrictive for yoga, which was what I bought them for. Should have expected that I guess. I would not recommend them for yoga. Mowing the lawn? Sure.

Excellent but no bargin

I really like them, but thought they were a bit overpriced for what they are. The range of motion is great but not as great as I would have hoped. Your everyday mesh gym shorts offer a bit more mobility if you ask me (I find the material on these prAnas is a bit rigid for this purpose). Definitely not a bad pair of shorts though and I love the look. I get the feeling that they will last forever as well judging from the high quality material and stitching. Definitely built to last.

Comfy and Light

typically use these shorts for climbing, yoga, and running. very comfortable, breathable and light material that make it great for any type of aerobic exercise. also great to lounge around in. high quality fabric, great stitching, two hand pockets and one back pocket. nice strong elastic waist belt keeps a snug but comfortable fit. only dislike/complaint would be no front zipper or opening (even though there is a piece of fabric that makes it seem like there is a front zipper) overall, great pants, well worth the money! :)

Decline of Material and Elastic Quality

They changed the material and the elastic waistband on these shorts. The material isn’t as soft as the past material used. The waistband elastic stretches to a certain point and stops, making them annoying to pull up, and annoying to pull down to use the bathroom (I’m a guy btw), I own 6 pairs of these shorts (old version) already, and literally wear them every day. I love them. I noticed they weren’t available to order and was bummed. So, when I saw they were restocked I ordered 2 more. That’s when I found out they changed the material and elastic. I don’t dislike them enough to go through the return process, but I will not be ordering again.

changed the size of the waistband

I have four pairs of these shorts from over the years. I live in these shorts all summer, rock climbing and fly fishing, cause I'm a school teacher and I don't really get paid well but I live in my truck and dirtbag hard all summer. Well I got a new pair to replace one of the pairs that is on its last leg. I've always been a medium. Now a medium is too big at the waist. But a small is too short at the legs. Short like boxer shorts short, not stylish or rock climbing compatible short. The redesign / refit is no good! what'd you do, Prana? Now I'm gonna have to find a new pair of shorts cause the mojo's (which were near-perfect) are no good.

Great shorts, don't last

I've owned many a pair over the years and live in them all summer. They are great for climbing and running and dry fast after jumping in the river/lake on a hot day. When the sun goes down I can throw pants over them and the flat waistband remains comfortable. However, the quality of the elastic band seems to have deteriorated in the newer iterations. They typically last 1 year before the elastic is so worn that they cannot be used anymore. Now I have a sad collection of old mojo shorts with a non-elastic waistband that is 3 sizes bigger than the original.. I wish I could send them in and have the waistband replaced instead of ordering new ones.

Owned these for 8+ years

I've spent countless nights in these at the climbing gym, at the crag, hiking, but especially for backpacking. I wear these for overnight trips and 250 milers (same pair everyday day) so I've seen them in action.MY FAVORITE PAIR OF SHORTS for anything outdoors, I own 4 of them...BUT sometime in the last few years they changed the cut/design of the shorts and the new design isn't nearly as comfortable, (shorter and narrower through the legs and butt). My brother-in-law says the same thing, and he refuses to buy any new ones because of it.I bought a new pair, but I still wear the old ones every time. PLEASE CHANGE THEM BACK PRANA

Great Shorts, but quality has degraded over the years

I've been purchasing the Mojo Short for the last 15 years and have seen the quality degrade over time. The quality in the elastic band is horrible. I typically purchase 2-3 at a time knowing that the band will degrade and start falling apart. The shorts are very versatile and can be used for just about everything. The shorts are great for swimming, hiking, gym wear, lounging, etc. The one pet peeve besides the elastic band are the depth of the pockets. The pockets used to be deep and accommodating, but they changed them a few years ago. I don't know how you are supposed to comfortably fit anything in them anymore.

Love this shorts when climbing

I use this shorts strictly for climbing. For that I love them. They look like a slim fit, but feel very comfortable. They breathe, dry fast (when wet after sweating), and stretch when needed. The size I think is right on. I am a slimmer 36 waist, and Large fits great and looks great (gotta look good when climbing :-) ). I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good pair of shorts for climbing or yoga.

Pretty much awesome for everything

Well, the Kansas summer has set in and the humidity has skyrocketed like it always does. And the Mojo short from Prana has been just the thing. It's light, breathable, and comfortable to start with. That's not enough you say? It's also stylish, fits great, and can be used for just about anything you would ever do short of going to a formal gala. I've been using it to hike, travel, run, do yoga, go to class, and head to the pub. I'll admit, the price tag is a little steep, but Prana does have excellent construction and fit so I think it's worth it. My only complaint is that I usually clip my keys to a belt loop with a carabiner when biking to work which I can't accomplish due this short's lack of belt capabilities. Sacrificing that, though, gives you an extremely comfortable elastic waist that keeps you moving freely whatever you choose to do.
