yoga shorts
I looked for years for shorts to replace the terrific but short and stretchy rock climbing shorts I previously got from REI. The basketball and jogging shorts I bought from them last year just did not stretch enough in some poses. These stretch and are smooth enough to do lunges and pigeon pose without constantly having to readjust ones pants. They are loose enough and cover enough when inverted to provide adequate modesty but are an inch or so too long for my 5'-10" height. Wide elastic waist band rolls and does not stay flat. The fabric does not provide enough friction your arm to have traction in some poses like twisting lunges. These are still the best I have found for yoga without using lycra bicycle shorts.
Excellent but no bargin
I really like them, but thought they were a bit overpriced for what they are. The range of motion is great but not as great as I would have hoped. Your everyday mesh gym shorts offer a bit more mobility if you ask me (I find the material on these prAnas is a bit rigid for this purpose). Definitely not a bad pair of shorts though and I love the look. I get the feeling that they will last forever as well judging from the high quality material and stitching. Definitely built to last.
Comfy and Light
typically use these shorts for climbing, yoga, and running. very comfortable, breathable and light material that make it great for any type of aerobic exercise. also great to lounge around in. high quality fabric, great stitching, two hand pockets and one back pocket. nice strong elastic waist belt keeps a snug but comfortable fit. only dislike/complaint would be no front zipper or opening (even though there is a piece of fabric that makes it seem like there is a front zipper) overall, great pants, well worth the money! :)
Love this shorts when climbing
I use this shorts strictly for climbing. For that I love them. They look like a slim fit, but feel very comfortable. They breathe, dry fast (when wet after sweating), and stretch when needed. The size I think is right on. I am a slimmer 36 waist, and Large fits great and looks great (gotta look good when climbing :-) ). I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good pair of shorts for climbing or yoga.
Pretty much awesome for everything
Well, the Kansas summer has set in and the humidity has skyrocketed like it always does. And the Mojo short from Prana has been just the thing. It's light, breathable, and comfortable to start with. That's not enough you say? It's also stylish, fits great, and can be used for just about anything you would ever do short of going to a formal gala. I've been using it to hike, travel, run, do yoga, go to class, and head to the pub. I'll admit, the price tag is a little steep, but Prana does have excellent construction and fit so I think it's worth it. My only complaint is that I usually clip my keys to a belt loop with a carabiner when biking to work which I can't accomplish due this short's lack of belt capabilities. Sacrificing that, though, gives you an extremely comfortable elastic waist that keeps you moving freely whatever you choose to do.
Zero stretch
Comfortable fabric and spacious pockets make them decent shorts in general, but the lack of any stretchiness (combined with the length) makes them restrictive for yoga, which was what I bought them for. Should have expected that I guess. I would not recommend them for yoga. Mowing the lawn? Sure.
Comfy, with a Flap-Flop
I loved these at first. I found them to be soft with plenty of room to move. I still don't want to return them, but half of one of the two velcro pads that hold the back pocket flap closed just ripped off. This was under normal back pocket use for a few hours at the airport (I had to pull my ID out twice). Sadly for me, they're going back since I can't trust that these are of the quality that I expect from prAna and REI.
Keepin' up the Mpjo!
Bought a pair of these years ago and they still look great. The stitching is even in tact. I was psyched to find them again knowing that they last so well and feel so great. Use them for climbing (lower 48) to jogging to sleeping and anything active or casual in-between. Glad to see they haven't compromised design or quality since I first purchased them years ago.
My go to climbing shorts!
This shorts are the bees knee's when it comes to climbing (Gym or Outdoor), Yoga, and casual runs. Due to the amount of pockets I would not recommend these for more than a day hike unless you are a bare to the bones traveler like me.
The cut is way off
I ordered the small sized, hoping this would be a comfortable size to wear to the gym and on the trail. Yes, they feel comfortable, but the 10" inseam doesn't mean much when the crotch starts nearly mid-thigh! I even tried pulling them up to my belly button and still there was room for my man parts.
