Life saver
I wear glasses and since I never used contact lenses I have to deal with fogging of my glasses under the goggles. Year after year, I was searching for a means to reduce or eliminate fogging. I think I tried the majority of options available on the market, and this is the best of all. Smith No Fog Cloth could slightly reduce fogging at best. "Cat ..." sold by REI (I tried its earlier version which was not a spray) was not efficient at all. Goggles with built-in fan worked but were noisy and one had to keep an eye on the battery and timely replace it. I found that ForTech works better than goggle with fan and practically eliminates fogging in all conditions. Its only limitation is that it occasionally tends to form a kind of interference rainbow-like patterns on glasses with antireflection coating, if applied too liberally. I usually use not coating glasses for skiing, and with those glasses FogTech always works like a charm. For me, it was a life saver, truly - do not know how I would ski without it! Even on warm days, I get no fogging.
If needed for emergencies!
The product works but you must make sure it is done properly, in a (preferably) more room-temp space (for drying purposes), and LET IT DRY before putting your glasses/goggles back on! I probably wouldn't use this product everyday, only in a pinch. It doesn't work all that great (leaves residue and cloudy/blotchy haze behind, especially if not dried properly) and the chemicals in it make it leave a chemical-y smell, which if you are not careful enough, will burn your eyes if you try to put your glasses/goggles on too soon after applying the wipe! Also just stinks and really don't want that too close to the precious eyeballs.. use with caution I guess, just follow directions and you will get by with this product if needed!
Useless to prevent fogging on Glasses
I purchased this product to alleviate my glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask while skiing. This product does not apply well. Leave droplets on glasses which impact visibility. I tried on 2 different pairs of glasses with different lens types. All it did was cause more moisture to collect and freeze on my glasses. Had to remove glasses and just ski with my goggles. Do not waste your money.
The best anti-fog means I found (with one caveat)
I've been using Fogtech DX since at least 10 years. I tried at least 4-5 alternatives, but none works like Fogtech, not even close! I tend to run hot and sweat a fair amount, consequently, my glasses tend to fog quickly as well. Currently, I use Fogtech for my prescription glasses while skiing, and for prescription goggles in which I play pickleball. The caveat is that it can only be used on lenses without any fancy anti-reflection coatings. It seems, FogTech leaves some sort of a coating on the lens which may cleate a multilayer structure in combination with AR coating, which results in a rainbow haze (multi-color residue on the lens). This residue is not permanent, but if you remove it with an alcohol wipe, you will remove the anti-fog layer as well. Therefore, I found that I cannot use it on my regular glasses with all those factory coatings. For this reason, I use special glasses for skiing which do not have any coatings (they do not get dark in the sunlight either, which is a huge plus while skiing), and my pickleball goggles do not have coatings either (they have anti-fog factory coating which of little help, and it does not interfere with Fogtech). Fogtech, in a way, has been a life saving thing for me, I do not know how I would ski or play pickleball without it. For my uses, one coat (one anti-fog cloth) lasts several days. I once bought it in a bottle directly from the manufacturer, but quickly found that individually packaged cloths are much more practical.
Overpriced and no better than others!
Aside from Fog Tech, I have tried Cat C. spray on, Cat C. paste, McNett Sea Drops (best so far), TYR Anti-fog (swimming) & Defog-It wipes for both prescription sunglasses when skiing or goggles for swimming, and nothing seems to work very good. I must just be a hot head! This product is the most expensive of all and works no better than above.
Great for swim goggles.
It is the only product I have used that works on swim goggles. I swim two to four miles several times a week and this stuff last. I have not needed to use it on my ski goggles or sunglasses.
Nope.
It didn't work. If you scrub your glasses like nuts, they might stay fog-free for a little while but it doesn't last and tends to fog up anyway.
not impressed
I used this product on my glasses as well as my ski goggles and saw absolutely no difference in fogging. Disappointed to say the least.
Doesn’t work
These wipes leave lots of smudges on goggles and don’t work. Don’t waste your money
Very bad product
Just slimes your optics. I do not recommend this product.
