This harness is solid as a rock. Easy adjustments, the legs will self adjust essentially because of the elasticity and the waist is essentially a "set-it-and-forget-it" system. I read that it was difficult to get on and off, it's not, at least not any more so than any other harness and why would you want a harness that will come off easily anyway? The back is a little thick which can get pretty hot when the sun's baking down on you. That's the case with mesh though too, ultimately I'd prefer the comfort of the thicker padding rather than unsupportive yet "cooling" mesh. Black Diamond is an awesome company with a great reputation and this harness lives up to their standards.
This is a great value for the money. Excellent harness for indoor and sport climbing. I like the speed adjust buckle, makes getting in and out much faster and easier. Cannot really comment on durability since it was purchased just few months ago, but I dragged it through some chimneys, so far without problems. It doesn't feel very comfortable to me when sitting in it for longer periods of time (on hanging belays), so I would not really recommend this for big walls It's light and compact enough that it would probably work for mountaineering, but I prefer my BD Couloir there. If you're tight on budget, this is a very good all-arounder, but not only that. It is my first choice for indoor and weekends at the local crags
I got this harness after a recommendation from a friend. For the price, it doesn't get much better. The only complaint I have is that the size medium is just a little too big for my 28 inch waist and the small sized harness was too small. However, the pros are incredibly numerous. Despite the size problem I have, it's still an incredibly comfortable harness. It's very simple to put on and use and is padded very nicely. The loops on the waist and on the back are also a nice feature that allow for quick access to chalk bags, belay systems, etc. For the price, this harness is excellent and I can see myself using it for a very long time.
I really like all of my other BD gear (and I have quite a bit). But this harness was just not for me. First, it was way too big. I am about a 32 inch waist and the medium felt way too big. Once I got it synched down it was pretty much as tight as it could go and was way to the side. Second, I found that hanging in the harness for any more than a minute became really uncomfortable. I went to REI and tried on the Petzl and it fit me much better, and I ended up returning this harness for that one. Overall this didn't seem like a bad product, but if you have a smaller waist for your size, this will probably not work for you. I would, however, suggest this to those with a different body type.
I cannot be more satisfied with this harness. At the price point it is a great value. I have a size 30-31 waist and ended up buying a medium which fits well, and has sufficient room in the event my waist expands over time. The harness is very easy to use and very comfortable. The leg adjustment straps are simple to use and hold tight without issue. The padding is sufficient and not uncomfortable to hang in - and is also breathable.
This harnes I bought for the rated tail hitch. I love using it for training. After about 4 hours I have to loosen it a bit but it stays tight with no problem. I rated it a 4 because of the comfortability of it. Very flexable and overall just a great harness. It seams extremely durable and if you have trust issues with equipment, this is the harness for you.
At my first visit to REI, one of my friends suggested to me to buy my own harness. We found the Momentum. It was reasonably priced (45 after tax) so I decided to go with it. I had no previous knowledge of climbing equipment. I used this harness A LOT this past summer. I used it for belay, rappel, zip line, high ropes, and climbing walls. It performed great! I liked the gear loops a lot. I found that they were useful for things like a radio, water bottle, keys, and other gear. The harness was comfortable if I fell from the high ropes(a fall of about 3-4 feet) or the climbing wall(3-4 feet) or even from the zip line. Very sturdy harness. I didn't get sweaty or anything even after belaying for 3-4 hours. I'm 6'4" and average build, and the large size harness fit me very comfortably.VERY GOOD BUY!
I recently joined a rock climbing gym and got this harness to top rope with. I think this harness fits very well and is very easy to put on and adjust. The sides also allow for a number of carabineers and/or belay devices to be stored on it as well. All in all, I really have nothing bad to say about this harness!
At its price point, I would recommend this harness to anyone considering it. I climb 3-5 times a week and had this harness for over a year and ended up retiring it due to sizing before it ever wore out on me. The leg loops are fool proof and the waist adjustment is easy with the auto-double-backing buckles. The harness weighs marginally more than harnesses that cost almost three times as much. If you are looking for an "all-around" harness that would fit the needs of a recreational climber, this harness is great.
I use it in the gym and sport climbing. Cannot complain, for versatility and price it's the harness to get.
