Excellent camping table!

This is the best table I have seen so far for camping. It is relatively light weight, not back country minimalist by anymeans, but still. The straps can be tightened to stablize the table so it doesn't fold up when you set something on top of it. The double layer is a great idea! The is an attached side pocket that is not shown in the picture. They seemed to have attached it right in front of one of the cup holders which seems like a silly place for it, but all you have to do is reach around it, not a problem. So far this table has held up for eating, playing cards, and stacking cookwear. I definitely would recommend it at this price!

Great camping table with a soft top

Bought this table two years ago. Have used it car camping, church events at the beach, and at home for my kids to play games on. It would also be good for picnics and events like 4th of July fireworks when you need a little horizontal space to eat and play games while passing time. The carrying case makes it easy to throw over my shoulder and still carry my cooler and a few chairs for the family. It folds up very narrow and is easy to travel with or store. It has a soft top, so my expectations were not the same as for my aluminum roll out camping table. This is more sturdy in the legs, but not as taught on the top. It is still my preferred table on the go!

Simple, effective

Purchased this to supplement a roll-up guide's table for free-range car camping. It's stable, the cup holders and lower staging area come in handy, what else is there to say? Easy-up, easy-down, comes with its own carry-case. Not to be relied on as a "full strength" table and cooking on it is clearly out of the question, but if you want to enhance your mobile picnic preparedness, it fits the bill. Decent but not phenomenal value for the money, but it seems built well enough to last a few seasons at the least.

Perfect for primitive campsites

I'm an avid fly fisherman and will go to rivers and lakes that many times require 4WD. I'm usually by myself and I tent camp at water's edge generally at a primitive site. This table is great for all the typical things such as eating, sorting through gear and rigging up, or just sitting waiting for the hatch to start. I particularly like the beverage holders on the lower shelf for the obvious and also things like insect repellent and other odds & ends. Your drink never gets knocked over. Also, some places I camp get very windy and with the stake holes in the feet it is easy to stake the table down.

useful, fun

This is intended for outings (by car) to cabins, picnics, potlucks and such. Easy to carry, set up and close down. Well made. Too heavy - and unnecessary - for backpacking @ 6#, but fun for other outings.

good camping table

Brought this on a 4 day river trip and it was great for card games. I really liked the cup holders and the storage under the table. The kids played cards on it for hours. I wasn't firm enough for use in the kitchen - wasn't good for chopping vegetables or even holding heavy items. Even with the stabilizers it still caves in a little to the center. Summary - great for eating and games, not good for kitchen. I would buy it again.

Great design at a great price!

This table was exactly what we needed for festival camping. The upper level worked great for eating and preparing meals while the bottom level provided extra storage and safe spot for drinks. VERY easy to set up, too!

Good idea, bad execution

I've purchased other Alps products and have had good luck, but not this time. The very first time I set this up, two of the straps that function to tighten the table top broke off at the stitches. I was not applying any kind of herculean force to tighten the straps either. This will be going back into the box for a refund, and I'll start my search for a better, more durable camp table. Too bad, because it is really a nice, compact table.

Steady enough

Just finished a group retreat and used this table to hold a projector in use with an outdoor screen. Table was excellent. Without a solid piece top, this table is about as stable as they come when you cinch up the straps. Very useful and having the cup holders in the bottom level with the attached organizer pockets make this a great purchase for a variety of uses.

Appreciate what this company is doing

I have been a long-time user of folding tables and find them to be a nice addition for having when I want to eat/drink and place items I want access to when lounging at home or in the outdoors and as a footstool. Previous tables have had the drink holder on the table surface and it has been my experience that this is not the best location, so I was intrigued when I saw what ALPS Mountaineering has designed. After one-month of use I find that I really appreciate this dual-layer design. With the glass or water bottle out of the way, the table surface is completely usable without having to dodge the drink holder, as with the previous all-in-one tables. Access to the lower drink holder is very practical too. I just placed an order for a second Eclipse Table. One thing the picture does not show is the storage pocket for small items and books/magazines. Nice touch, just wish it could be removable. Having purchased other ALPS Mountaineering products within the past six months I am very pleased with the quality, price and design of what they are producing.
