Perfect for travel

I bought this bag to use as a carry on for international travel. I was easily able to load it with all items for a three week trip to New Zealand, still have room for souvenirs, and remain within the 7k carry on weight limit. It carries well on the body and easily fits into overhead bins on the flights. The cinch straps can make it even smaller if you need to. I was considering either the Talon or Exos bags (from Osprey) but decided on the Sirrus because it fully zips closed. The other bags have the front pocket which is open at the top and I was worried about things possibly falling out. I also like how the Sirrus allows access to the main compartment from either the front or the top. It was heavier than the Talon and Exos but the pockets were more important to me. I have yet to use it as a bag on outdoor excursions but since it definitely fits the bill as a great travel bag, I'm sure I will also love it as a overnight hiking pack.

I have hiked for many years and had a lot of different packs and I really like this pack. It is big for a day pack but has lots of compression straps to snug it up, and then can expand for long days on the mountain. The shoulder straps are a bit narrow, I am broad in the shoulders and neck and the straps almost rub my neck but otherwise the fit is comfortable. The water pockets are a pretty far reach and hard to put the water bottle in, you have to take one shoulder out to get it in yourself, not a big deal since I like the more narrow, women's style pack. Also, the purple is really pretty!

I originally had the smaller version of this backpack and then opted for the larger after discovering I needed more space for an all day hike. This particular pack is a great size. Not a huge fan of the foldover flap but there is a zipper that will give you access into the main compartment. I have used this for several 20+ mile hikes and it's very comfortable and convenient.

I want to love this back with all my heart, but... Reasons to love it: 1) Amazing storage possibilities - pockets on the waist belts are great, easy to access your stuff from front and top panels 2) Mesh venting on the back actually works! 3) Raincover is included (I always like that) 4) Cute 5) Stash-and-go straps for your trekking poles (this is really amazing) 6) Cool little pocket on your chest strap for lip balm (or whatever you need) 7) Emergency whistle is PART of the cross-chest strap buckle. Genius! Reasons I have to return it: 1) The aluminum frame's bottom bar on the bottom pushes into the top of my bum and bruises it a little. 2) Straps are too close together and scratch my neck as I walk. 3) Top of pack bumps my head in a really weird way when I go up any type of hill, making it really hard to move. Aw, man. I think this pack would be PERFECT for someone else with a slightly different body. I may even find that it's the best pack for me on the market... we'll see!

I kept stuffing it with clothes and gear and it took it all. Easy enough to fit in the overhead compartment. Great overall bag. Now need another trip for a reason to use.

I bought this because I needed a large, comfortable daypack to hold all the equipment I use as a field biologist. I was looking for a pack that had some organizational features and plenty of pockets I could access without taking the pack off. This totally fit the bill- I especially love the built in pockets on the hip belt and shoulder straps, and the angle of the mesh pockets on the sides of the pack. My 2-liter camelback bladder fits perfectly in the built-in sleeve. Although this pack is pricy, the details are worth it. I really appreciate the perfect fit of the hipbelt, it makes a difference when carrying a load for a full day of work. I can comfortably stash 25-30 pounds of gear into this pack and the load is balanced and secure. I'm 5'7, 135 lbs and bought the size medium, which fits perfectly. Osprey packs are the best on the market, especially for women who want a customized fit. The only criticism I have for this product is that the straps (and there are many- on the hip belt, compression straps in two places on the sides, the shoulder straps, etc.) are excessively long and bugged me enough to trim them. No big deal, just a modification I made so they didn't swing all over the place and get in my way. Overall, and excellent pack and one you won't regret purchasing!!

Used this to backpack for 3 days in Sequoia National Park and also a less rugged vacation. I'm 5'4" and bought the medium and it fit great, I could have possibly bought a small instead, and based on wearing it now I think a large would have been too big. It was very easy to custom fit with the many adjustable straps (cinches close to shoulders, hips, and shoulder strap length). The straps are very long though and you may want to make them shorter for yourself, especially the ones on the hip. If you have a 3L hydration in the pack that is full, the interior space seems constricted since the suspension sytem on the other side of it pushes the water storage into the pack pretty far. Was still able to carry plenty of clothing and supplies for a 3 day hike though. It just made it tough to load gear to the bottom of the pack and efficiently pack items next to the bladder. That's the only con I had for this one. The rest is great, the hydration tube can come out on the right or left, the built in raincover is awesome (a small zippered compartment holds it in the bottom of the pack and you can fit a poncho in there with it), the handy pockets on the hip belts and the shoulder strap are extremely handy (good for a camera, phone, keys, glasses, sunscreen etc), and the numerous cinch straps help to keep averything snug and can be used to hold a bed roll or light supplies to the exterior. There are two zippered compartments on the top of the pack that are handy and a larger zippered compartment with 2 mesh pockets inside on the front. The side mesh pockets fit a 1L water bottle, and the fit is very snug. This pack has a very tough time fitting a sleeping bag into it, even when the sleeping bag was fully compressed, but it is doable, though not as doable with a full water bladder in there. The ventilation is great on this one, never had a sweaty back. This pack doesn't feel bulky when wearing it. Fits easiliy, even when full, into an overhead compartment of a regional jet for traveling with it too. Was a bit worried about that when packing, but it was not an issue. I'm not sure how it would fare as a checked bag due to all of the straps that hang off of it.
