Rugged Chain

This is the only chain that I use. This chain shifts well and runs quiet. The quick link makes installation easy. I keep an eye on my chain wear, especially after it hits 0.5%. For my 10 speed I replace the chain BEFORE it gets to 0.75%. I usually don’t drop the chain for cleaning. I just run it through a rag after riding, and lube it lightly with Boeing T-9 every two or three days. I go through four chains before I have to replace the cassette.

A great chain

I've used a couple of SRAM PC1051s. They have worked well every time. They've lasted as long or longer as comparable chains from Shimano and KMC. SRAM's power lock/quick link makes installation easy.

Awesome chain!

This is the chain that originally came with my bike. Replaced after 11,000 miles. I get a lot of life out of my drive train because I maintain my bike often.

Works Flawlessly

Purchased and installed in Kennewick WA enroute to Vernal UT so I can say it was tested over the next ~900 miles / 22 days on the road. Great product and service from REI !

SRAM chain was a easy upgrade

Bike was only two years old and chain was kept clean and oiled properly...but it would slip off from time to time under pressure or during a gear shift. The SRAM chain changed the whole bike for the better....wow... it was like a new ride. Just because you think your chain is good does not mean it’s not stretched.

New chain made the difference

My 5 year-old Randonee was no longer shifting smoothly. After making many adjustments that did not improve it my friends in the Maple Grove REI repair shop suggested I buy a new chain, since my old one probably had stretched. Sure enough, the new one brought the shifting back to normal.

Return customer for this product. Good go to chain

Bought this chain before so I know its a great chain. Ive used it from a road bikes to mountain bikes and I purchased this one for my fat bike so I know this is a strong enough chain for that bike and reliable enough to last.

SRAM Chains are Easy to Put on and Take Off

SRAM chains work great! As a non-professional rider, I can’t think of reason not to use them. Chains are pretty much a commodity item, I don’t think there much that isn’t know about them. The price is right and these chains work well. The greatest enemy to a smooth running drivetrain is a lack of lubrication.

SRAM quality and good performance overall

It’s my fault it’s a 4 of 5. I’m running an old school triple with a 9 speed in the back. Works great on the cassette, but a little clunky on the FD. This is a big weight savings over a 9-speed chain which worked great on the front but was wonky at the 11t end of the cassette, so overall a good compromise.
