Great Socks!
I was given a free pair of these socks about 4 years ago at a marathon and haven't worn any other brand since then. I dabble in trail running, marathons and ultra-distance races and have never had a problem with these socks. No blisters, no slipping or bunching up and they last forever. I like thin socks and despite the double layer concept, I still consider these thin socks. I usually rotate through about three pairs of socks per year (about 1,000 miles per year) and they hold up very well.
Great Sock, Shrinkage warning
Sock is great, I wear it with some minimalist shoes. Lightweight, not too stuffy, and good wicking. However there is no care information once you throw away the packaging, and a standard wash and dry will shrink these socks to half their size.
Great Sock
I have been wearing these socks for years and are the only sock I wear now, with the exception in the winter. If you are a size 12, buy the XL as they will fit your foot better. The large is quite tight on my foot and tends to cause my big and 2nd toe to rub against each other.
Socks that Save!
I bought these socks to take on a trip to Italy. They saved my life! Well at least they saved my feet. I was blister free and we walked and walked and walked. Each day my husband voiced his dismay that he hadn't bought some for himself.
Not a good sock
The first layer of the double layer sock has worn down very quickly. There are huge holes around the sock. They do, when new, help prevent blisters. They are not robust. They are not sturdy. They aren't that great to run in either. I have done multiple, 7+ mile runs with these and they are not great. I have other socks from another brand from this same order with no signs of wear on them and no holes. There are so many holes in the first layer of these socks for me. I wish I could get my money back to be honest.
Blister free
I've used a variety of running socks, including injinji and smartwool. I've always been prone to getting blisters on runs of 6+ miles, and figured that this will always be the case. But I was wrong. I tried these Wrightsocks due to their advertising of "no blisters guaranteed". I first used them on a half marathon and they worked perfectly!! I didn't develop any new blisters on the run!! So far, these socks have lived up to their expectations, and I look forward to using them on all of my distance runs.
Love my Wrightsocks! Never Wrong!
Been wearing Wrightsocks for many years. Harder to find lately. REI does offer them, but not in the variety that they have been in the past. These showed up on sale, plus I had a dividend credit, now I have 3 new pairs. A bought 3 pairs from another company, which were not priced as good as these. They seem a lot thinner than they have in the past, unless that’s the new style. My issue with the socks, is that I wear them playing soccer, in the heel wears out very quickly. I’m hoping these last a little longer. I hate throwing away a pair of socks When there’s only a hole in one layer of the heel.
Blisters
I bought these socks for a half marathon this past April and they were great. My feet felt comfortable and I came away without a single blister or hotspot, though the race was in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the temperature did not go above 20 degrees (and was around 5-10 for most of the race). I've worn them a few times since and also have not had any real issues. Then today, I went for a 9-mile run in 90-degree weather and I have 3 fully-formed blisters...so I'd have to say i'm kinda disappointed. I'm not an unreasonable guy...I know that blisters happen and there's a lot of factors and even with the best socks these kind of things can happen...but I own a pair of similar socks made by REI that have served me a lot better. If they are on sale, or you've got a coupon or a dividend or something, sure go for it...otherwise I'd look for a comparable pair at a better price.
The Best Socks Ever
There are a lot of good socks on the market, but Wright Socks have been the most reliable over time for me. Their unique double layer technology prevented blisters on a sixty mile track over three days when everyone around me was suffering. I still wear and use the socks I bought over 10 years ago. Other sock brands Ive tried get holes in toes within a year, but my Wright Socks have been reliable and in prefect condition after heavy use over time. The Wright brand is harder to find with competition taking over the space, but well worth finding and buying. Was thrilled to see REI offers them.
Tight and don’t hold up.
My husband and I both bought a pair of these socks for a three week trip to Asia. We both felt they ran small and tight for our normal sizing. We have each worn them about 10 times (max) and already the heal of the outer part is thin to show signs of wear looking like an old pair of socks….I will return them.
