I am a college student and I love this bag, for the most part. There are so many hidden pockets that I'm able to use. I can carry all of my books for class that day, plus my laptop. I have a 15in Macbook Pro that I put in a sleeve, then put in the laptop compartment. No issues having it fit in there for me. My only complaint is the front compartment design with the snap and the zippers on both sides is kind of weird. i would rather just have a zip around compartment. Other than that, it's definitely a great backpack for a college student!
I purchased this backpack to carry my work laptop along w/ work clothes & shoes to change into once arriving at work. There's ample room to carry it all and plenty of pockets and zip compartments for personal items, making it easy to be organized. It's comfortable to wear, especially because of the sternum support strap being adjustable vertically to fit each individually. I would have given this a 5 star rating except for the fact that the strap around the waist doesn't quite make it around mine yet. I am in the process of losing weight and getting more fit, so I anticipate that it will fit soon. Despite the waist strap, the pack still fits securely and comfortably while bike riding or Nordic walking to work. I love this backpack!
I used to carry around a messenger bag, and I loved the way it looked and held stuff, but I started to develop neck and shoulder issues from it being a shoulder bag. Last night my partner sent me off to REI with early birthday money to buy myself a decent backpack, and I came home with this! I wish the hip belt were actually padded (the description says it is, but it's nothing like, say, the belt on the most comparable pack of another brand in the store), but for the weights I'm carrying to work, it's still fine. I love how many organizing compartments it has, and the slightly different design of the women's version does make a positive difference to me. Oh, and it's endorsed by chiropractors! Given that I had just visited mine (for said neck and shoulder problems), that's important to me too!
I specifically bought this computer backpack for my laptop as I hate carrying a side computer bag. Although it's advertised as accommodating most 15" laptops, it does NOT. My laptop is 14.75" and when I put it in the dedicated laptop compartment (the one that's padded in the back of the backpack), the zipper didn't go around. Total pain, I'm going to return.
I really wanted to like this pack, which I was using as a diaper bag on local day hikes. However, after the first hike I got a blocked milk duct. When I compared the fit of the straps to the pack I'd been using previously, it did spread the weight across breast tissue. So much for the "woman's" pack!
I use this pack for short day hikes, school, and travel. Its amazing! you can fit anything you need in it! Its been wet, and i have had it for a while and not a rip in it. Its been everywhere and still good as new.
Lugging stuff at camp this summer in MN and then back to school with the best looking backpack in high school. Love the color and great space.
I am a college student that also works 40-60 hours/week, and I practically live out of this bag during the semester. There are frequently days were I have no longer than a 30 minute break between work and class, so I've had to adjust by packing meals and other necessities to go every day. I had gone through several messenger bags and backpacks before finding this gem. It has enough storage to pack around my laptop, books, various meals and other daily necessities. Also, the strap system is ridiculously comfortable considering the load being carried (back and shoulder support is extremely important to me as I've seriously injured both in the past). I have not used the waist strap, but it's nice to know it's available if needed. Currently I tucked it away in the convenient little pockets in the back of the pack. The waist strap is not as padded as advertised in case that is a deal breaker for anyone. In addition, it's nice to have the pouch at the bottom of the bag for cables, etc. I love to be organized, so it's great not to have to dig for that cable that always seems to work it's way to the bottom of every other bag I've owned. I plan to use this as my primary travel bag over the summer too thanks to its great storage and organization. Highly recommended for every day use.
