Tough little stretchy cargo net!

I bought this net over six months ago, and up until last weekend, I all but forgot about it. This net is tough! (see picture) Modification Note: I replaced the large hooks with small hooks for a more snug fit to the rack.(see picture)

Tangling hooks problem solved

Replaced them with carabiners from the local surplus store. Now a good net is better.

Love it

I use it daily. One of the knots came lose after about a month but fixing it was easy. All my hooks rusted after being exposed to rain one time. I returned to REI and they replaced it with another. This new one also rusted after short exposure to rain. This issue is purely cosmetic and does not change my rating of the product.

Great for commuting

Cheap efficient way to transport everything from groceries to your gym outfit. What you do after buying this is to go to Goodwill and find a nice gym bag say $5-$10. Then you put what item or items you need to transport that day in your bag tie it securely down with the net and off you go. Or you could spend lots of money on panniers. Its your call

It works

I've had this installed on my basket for about 4 months now. The rubber caps on the hooks fell off in the first two weeks, but there's no risk of repeated scratching. The net is sturdy. The hooks hook. The hooks hook too well sometimes. I'll likely switch to something more low profile to reduce probability of hooking the straps of the cargo I carry. It's not usually an issue, but during the winter months, it's difficult to unhook/detangle the hooks with low light and big gloves.

indispensable item in my world.

Perfect size for a bicycle. I often use this net to secure second bag of groceries on top of the heavy bag already secured on my rack, with never a problem. A. very durable product, one time I accidentally wrapped it around my wheel, and the steel hook straightened, but the net didn't break. Of course the net was mostly stretched to heck, but still had enough fastening points to remain useful with the damaged elasticity . In normal and that is too tight of a stretch use, it always retains a useful tension when unstressed. Besides grocery bags, the unending utility allows for great usefulness. I have carried a single basket ball, tennis racket, to a bulky folding chair with a complete go to the beach bag on top, all on a normal rear rack Because of the traditional knotted net construction done with elastic material, it is possible to shift some openings away from even, if you really try, or just use one hook with repeated heavy tension, it will shift as the line changes diameter in use. but this can be correct easily by simply pulling the knot back into the original position. You might be surprised at the loads I have carried on my rear rack , assisted with this useful product. I don't use panniers , so every load must be stable and in place while riding.

Better than using bungee cords..

I'm using this to hold my stuff in the basket attached to the back of my bike. The net system gives you piece of mind and is a faster way to secure your items quickly when compared with individually weaving and securing the various bungee chords I had been using previously. However on day 3 of use, I realized one of the white plastic bits (that cover the tip/end of the hook thing) has fallen off. Not a big deal as this is an inexpensive item, just a small annoyance that they're not as secure and I have no doubt more of the white rubber end bits will disappear the more I use this net. I might use a cable tie to secure one corner of this to my basket permanently to prevent theft and again to make sure it's always attached.

This cargo net saved my bikepacking trip

honestly, the best invention there is. I was able to put my sleeping bag, and tent poles snuggly on my rear rack with this thing. Saved a lot of space for my paniers.

Super useful for bikepacking

Works great and was cheap enough. I use it around my Tailfin bag / rack for bikepacking, it's almost perfect, the hooks are just a little large.
