Great if you are NOT counting grams...

Works VERY well with Big Agnes bags and pads. Creates a flat surface on top of air mattress. VERY comfortable! Personally, never had a problem with "slipping" off the pad because Big Agnes has sleeping pad pocket built into their bags. If you are counting grams backpacking this is just extra.. but its worth the extra weight to me!! Great night sleep!!

Impossible to NOT Slip Downhill!!!

This pad is a nice idea when used with the optional Big Agnes Air Pad. However, after using mine twice, I've found that it's only suitable on perfectly level ground (which usually isn't the case when camping in the mountains). The surface material is extremely slick when combined with most sleeping bags unless perhaps it's an old fashioned cotton exterior. Both times I used mine there was a slight slope and it was impossible to stay on the pad for any length of time. In fact, my bag would slip immediately upon entering the bag. Deflating the optional air pad helped with the slipperyness only slightly but then I lost the firmness I need for my back! Big Agnes needs to re-design this product so that it's compatible to use with modern sleeping bags. As it is, the surface is so slippery that it's virtually useless. They need to make it with an exterior material that will offer friction to the underside of sleeping bags so the camper doesn't spend the night "climbing" back on the pad all night.
