My favorite jacket

This is my favorite jacket. It's warm enough into the 50s. The material is only starting to fray slightly at the sleeves after 2-3 years of regular use. It's surprisingly durable. It dries fast. The zippers are excellent and don't pucker or catch. Just a great all round jacket. This jacket tends to run just a shade tight in fit, which is perfect for me. I'm a lean 39" chest and usually walk the boarder between sm/med. Because of the fit, I also tend favor vests over full arm fleeces to warm it up a little extra. A note: I have the slightly older version of this jacket. The newer version fixed the only thing that was slightly annoying, which was that the sleeves were fleece lined and bunched-up long sleeve shirts.

Comfortable and flattering

I'd been eyeing this jacket for a while. It's a bit expensive for what it is, to be honest, but then Kuhl is never cheap. Flipside: Kuhl is always TOP quality. Finally took the leap. Glad I did. It looks great on, moves well, and is just thick/lined enough to provide decent warmth as LA gets cooler. Especially in espresso, you could almost mistake it for a close-fitting leather motorcycle jacket (the site pic doesn't do it justice). Very much worth a closer look!

Sadly, looks aren't everything

This jacket gets amazingly positive reviews overall, which puzzles me... The style of the jacket is great. The intent of the articulated arms was marvelous but they didn't accommodate that the sleeves will ride up with this cut thus, making the sleeves feel as if they are too short when arms are in use. I love the fabric used and the patina finish on it. Front zipper was a little clunky and the hand pockets at the waist had big scratchy zippers on them making it uncomfortable to run your cold hands by them to use. For this reason and the sleeve issue, I had to return this jacket.

Great for everyday wear, and stylish.

At 6'0" and 195 pounds (Muscular build), I bought the large. It fits perfectly. The construction is great quality, and withstands all my outdoor activities. The inner lining is extremely comfortable, as well. I also wear this jacket out for those night time activities. It works well with a nice pair of jeans and a button down shirt. Dressier than it looks. I'm excited to get to wear this again shortly, as winter is my favorite time of year.

Love This Jacket!

I use this jacket primarily for a casual jacket for evenings and weekends. The jacket is comfortable and looks great. It has a medium weight lining which make it best for cooler weather and with a sweater could be worn on milder winter days. Fit's great and appears to be extremely well constructed.

Disappointed

I think the jacket was great until you try and raise your arm up to do anything, like grab your set belt or swing an axe while chopping wood for the winter. That second stitching on the shoulder hiders your range of motion by so much. I was really excited to get this jacket because I had the Spurr jacket which was great but it wasn't insulated. So I wanted a more insulated jacket in the winter so I wasn't wearing so many layers. If they fix that stitching problem I would consider buying it. In the end I had to return it because it was to annoying.

Sweet Jacket

I'm impressed by the quality, style, and price of this jacket. Rugged with warm lining, high collar when flipped up, and good zipper pockets. Size runs on the slender/fitted side so you might want to go up a size. I'm usually a large, but I went XL and the Burr is fine. Only issue is that the sleeves are lined with the same nappy fleece as core interior so your shirt sleeves tend to get stuck/jammed a bit when putting on the coat. Great for outdoor chores, taking kids to hockey, and going to dinner and live music.

Really like this jacket

Love this jacket for the most part, for me it's a great alternative to the carhartt jacket and more stylish. Great looking, feels durable yet comfortable. After an initial wash, the finish has some marks, but I think it will even out with age and additional washes. Cuts the wind very well, and can be layered for colder weather. I wish the sleeves were another inch or two long. I probably have longer than average arms (I need 34/35 sleeves on shirts), but it's difficult for me to do any reaching in this jacket. Other than that, I love it.

Looking for an excuse to wear it

I look forward to opportunities to wear this jacket, because of its rugged looks and ability to combine it with anything casual--from chinos to jeans, button-down shirts to T-shirts. I had been looking for a denim jacket, but this one is a step up, with a little fleece lining, lined sleeves, and zippered interior pocket. I like the contrasting stitching, and the shaped sleeves. I expect to use it mostly in the Spring and Fall. I would describe its look and fit as more of a motorcycle jacket than denim jacket, just in cotton canvas rather than leather. I love this jacket!

Impulse Turns Out Right Once and Awhile.

Saw this in the store and was impressed. Not a planned purchase, but happy with it. Was buying a Kuhl shirt and saw the jacket and was impressed with the feel and quality. This coat also cuts the wind nicely with a warm liner. If you know Kuhl, not slim fit, but a little slimmer than other major brands. Great for the Northeast fall and milder winter....The styling is what caught my and continues to impress me with Kuhl's line.
