I bought this for my 11-year-old son to use as pajamas on an upcoming back packing trip he is doing with Boy Scouts. My son is a VERY skinny kid and always cold, so I hoped these would be warm. This past weekend, he got a chance to "test" these bottoms when he was invited to go along on a camping trip with a friend. When he came home he said he loved it! He said it kept him warm and cozy in his sleeping bag, even though he is skinny. This is a HIGH endorsement from him. He has used this sleeping bag on many camping trips and is often cold 9even though it's a 0*F bag. This past weekend he was at a higher altitude, on a particularly cold/rainy weekend. I know he'll be able to wear them under clothes - and ski gear - to stay warm. I highly recommend this long underwear. It will keep you child "warm and cozy" in the cold.
I'm a petite adult who can usually wear kids' clothes in size L or XL. These leggings in size XL are very small. The inseam is about 22.5" and the waist, unstretched, is about 11.5" across. I ordered two pairs, and one pair was defective, with one leg 1.5" longer than the other! Those will be returned...
I bought these without comparing them to anything else because I trust the smart wool brand. They were expensive but I viewed it as an investment. They attract more hair than I knew we ever had in our home. We pull them out of the wash/ drier and you almost can't see the fabric- where did all this hair come from?! I spent a TON of time with a lint roller and my hands removing hair and almost got them back to new and every time my kids wear them it's right back. My wife's hair? The neighbors cat? A deer in the woods? It seems like if the kids get within 100 yards of anything with hair that hair ends up on these pants. It's gross, I don't understand it... but it's just awful.
These Smartwool pants are so cozy and warm. I wear them under my cargo pants with my Ugg boots and this California girl is perfectly comfortable in this damp, cold, Seattle weather.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So disappointed. These leggings arrived with snags on them already. We were pressed for time in sending my son to his Boy Scout Klondike Hike, so he had to wear them. Now I cringe when I look at them.
Started developing holes a few months in (daily use during late fall/winter, rotating between a few of these). I patched some of the bigger holes, but I keep getting tiny ones. Sadly, the quality difference between the kids’ and the women’s versions is very noticeable.
These pants are comfortable and fit great- I wore them in 30 weather as a pajama pant and inside my sleeping bag I was quite warm. They move well without binding and wash easily.
Bought boys and girls 250 base layer bottoms and tops for my kids ages 4 and 5 1/2. They LOVE it. So warm I can't get them inside (parent win for some quiet time), so cozy they sleep in them (parent win for fewer clothes changes). They've kicked butt in Vermont skiing at Mad River and Nor'easters just north of Boston. Only bad thing is they won't grow with my kids, so I'll be back again next year to size up! But for this year, absolutely fits true to the size chart.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This will be great for my preschooler this fall. The quality seems great-thick enough, light enough, warm enough. I will say to follow the size chart because based on other reviews I thought it would run small but after measuring my 4 year old I chose the equivalent to 3t and my daughter still has a couple inches to grow into. #sweepstakes
