Excellent Shoe

Excellent shoe! Very grippy sole with aggressive lugs that wrap around the heel. Midsole very supportive, more so than others in the Merrell line. Tongue is well-padded, but not overly so. Other ones I tried had excessive padding in the upper tongue that put undue pressure on the top of my arch. These are great shoes with enough support to tackle just about any day hike I can imagine. Stick to boots with heavy packs, but these will scramble with the best of them!

extreme comfort

used these bad boys on a 3 day backpacking trip this past weekend and encountered several inches of snow. my feet were warm and DRY the entire time. even when i was shuffling through snow my feet were happy. great padding. these shoes fit like a glove. extremely satisfied with these.

Got Five hard years outa one pair!!

Had the right toe 'blowout', but these babies have taken me to Guadalupe Mountains National Park,(twice) Enchanted Rock (3 times) and Dinosaur Valley State park (5 times) all over 5 years of hiking. Going out to buy the exact pair again. Love Them!!

Pretty good so far

Bought the shoes a few weeks ago and so far they're good. I've taken them up a mountain near my house to try them out and ran in them on a track. I work in Afghanistan and while they could use more ventilation so far I've had no problems with them.

Durable shoe

I've been using this shoe on the trail for about 3 months. It has treated me well. Thought it lost "spring" a little early, but maybe I was running more miles that I thought. I'll buy it again next spring for the trails

Not for wide feet guys

Felt great in the store, but after a short hike, my toes ached. Not great for wide feet guys. Also I noticed my feet where hot - which suggest these shoes may not breathe that entire well.
