Great fit for a small head!

I've been climbing for 14 years and finally found a helmet that fits my head! I used to be the one whose helmet was tilted or pushed high back on her forehead and had to wear a bandana or hat to get a close to reasonable fit. This one adjusts down to a smaller size, is comfortable, and safe because it fits right and isn't sliding all over the place. Great find - great product!

Total piece of [*]

I have had good luck with other Black Diamond products. I just took it on faith that this one would be good too - what a piece of [*]The design of this thing universally isn't likely to fit anyone. Well maybe if you have a very wide head and a low brow, and if the top of your head is flat. Really uncomfortable - the fit is so poor that it isn't likely to offer any protection at all. I am completely disappointed in this product. I've seen better skate park helmets [...]

Can't hardly feel it

I was five pitches up a classic Yosemite climb this past weekend, and as I gazed across the river to El Cap and reached to put my hands behind my head in a neck supporting way I was reminded I was wearing a helmet only when my hands brushed it. This helmet is so light and comfortable I truly forgot I was wearing it. It's a good idea to wear a helmet and if you're worried about the weight or being uncomfortable, forget about it. Get this helmet and never look back.

Great Buy

Very lightweight helmet and its "one size fits all" makes it a great gift buy. I bought this helmet for the second time after falling and hitting my head pretty hard and it probably helped me keep conscious. Helmet didn't crack or anything i just like to be safe :D Every solo climber needs a helmet as does any climber facing true rock, not a wall.

Low price = good deal

This helmet is super light and airy, I'm a minimalist so this helmet is perfect in regards to weight and comfort. When the helmet I ordered online arrived I gave it a once-over and found that the adjustment dial was jammed. After a couple of semi-vigorous cranks, a small chunk of plastic fell out, after which the dial would operate only with great amounts of coaxing and pleading. I took the helmet in for an exchange and examined the supply of in-store Half Domes, 2 more of which had similar jamming problems with their adjustment dials. I didn't crank them hard enough to break off the interior plastic bits, of course :) I grabbed one that operated smoothly and never looked back, we will be taking many more great trips together. Hard to beat for the price, just take some time to check out the adjustment dial before walking to the register with one. (The manufacturing stickers all said that the helmets were made in 2007, maybe it's possible that there was a bad batch?)

Could wear it all day w/o problem

Great helmet, lightweight and adjusts nicely. However, I have a big noggin' (7 1/4") hat size and this thing feels too small for me when I use it in winter while wearing a stocking cap underneath it. In summer though, it fits great.

Just Great

Great deal - use it all the time climbing and canyoneering. I guess it could always be lighter and stronger. Good buy. Don't think I will get another helmet for a very long time.

Great Helmet

I bought this helmet last year, and have used it for rock climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering. It is extremely comfortable, lightweight and adjusts to almost any head.

expensive, but worth it.

I have taken a pretty nasty lead fall and this helmet may or may not have saved my life. If you think your helmet is too expensive, just think how valuable your life is.
