This sack can survive a WATERFALL!
I bought this compression sack for my down sleeping bag because I needed to keep it dry. This does the job better than anything else in it's class. Recently, I was setting up camp on top of a large waterfall. I accidentally kicked this sack, packed with my brand new sleeping bag into the river and watched horrified as it went tumbling off the waterfall. It took at least 15 minutes to get to the bottom to retrieve it, and it was stuck directly under the fall the whole time! To my great surprise, (and relief) my sleeping bag emerged from the sack BONE DRY. This product is well worth your money!

Not waterproof
This bag is not waterproof. My camelbak leaked in my pack (not for that long) and got my down bag wet. I see this thing got awesome reviews but i did not have that experience. Will be going back to REI. Very disappointed in this product. When something says its waterproof, i expect it to be waterproof. Maybe i just got a dud

Get One

This is my third Sea To Summit eVent and my first STS compression sack. The eVent bags are so easy to use- just close it up and kneel on the bag and out goes all the air. I needed a good compression sack to compress down my sleeping bag and so got the eVent Compression sack. The sack's material is strong, waterproof and durable and the compression straps are really solid. I know it'll keep my sleeping bag nice and dry and it compresses down so well my sleeping bag takes up only a little room. I have a Kelty Light Year XP (women's regular) sleeping bag and the large eVent Compression sack is the perfect size.

Tough and quick

I bought the 20L (Large) for my Kelty light year +25* long/right sleeping bag. It fits very well with some room to spare. I am going to buy the medium to see if this fits as well. Takes less room in my pack. I submerged it in water to test and it did very well. My sleeping bag stayed dry. The bag dried quickly. I was pleased with how easy it was to loosening the straps. My only complaint is that the straps have no where to stay put even with sticking them through the handle. However; this is not a deal breaker. Can't wait to go on my backpacking and kayaking excursions!

Excellent compression sack/dry bag

I picked up this bag so I could keep my gear dry and fit it more efficiently into my pack. It did just that and more! The bag feels well put together and was easy to compress. Compared to regular dry bags it has much thinner material making it lighter. It's great for soft goods like clothes and sleeping bags. I would think twice about stuffing solid items in the bag, unlike the regular dry bags that are near bomb proof. But the main benefit of this bag is its ability to compress and let air circulate. I've put wet clothes in the bottom of this bag fully compressed and pulled them out dry by the end of the hike. They would have stayed wet for days in a regular dry bag. In my 30L sack I was able to fit a few sets of clothes, 20 degree sleeping bag, and a hammock. This filled the bag pretty well with a little room to spare. Then I sat on the bag and compressed it to under half its original size! The space saving compression and the waterproof yet breathable abilities of this bag make it a must have for backpacking, or really any travel. I will definitely be getting a smaller sack for my day pack so when my water bladder leaks while glassading a few thousand feet and getting soaked I will have a dry set of clothes to continue hiking in!

Worth the money

I have three of these bags. My wife and I use this for down sleeping bags and my down underquilt (hammock camping) when we go out. The bag works very well, and its is made out of durable material. I have never had any problems with water seepage My only drawback for the bag is the buckles on the compression straps. The straps are plenty strong, but the buckles where they are attached to the bag are lacking. I had a buckle split on me after a few trips, but this was only one of four buckles per bag out of three bags. Also, the buckle didn't change the waterproofness, just the compression. I finished my trip, went to REI and the exchanged it with no problem.

Keeps your stuff dry and small

Kept my sleeping bag and clothes dry when backpacking in a downpour. Nice and light. The 10L is a good size for very compressible down sleeping bags like the REI igneo, and the 15L is a good size for bulkier synthetic bags. I've found the best method to compress these is to put the more durable looking black (opening) end on the ground and sit on the orange end (the end with the handle). Then pull up on each strap in succession a few times until you've compressed the bag down to your desired size. It's so nice and compact afterwards that the hardest part is resisting the urge to toss it around like a football.

Great for all conditions!

I have used this bag extensively over the past few years, and it has been a life-saver time and time again. It has been used from the hot and humid coast of Kenya, where breathability is essential to prevent clothes and other gear from growing mold when being stored, to the top of Mt. Kenya, where a burst water bladder in my pack would have meant sleeping in wet clothes and sleeping bag at 15,000 feet above sea level. This bag has always kept my gear dry, and in spite of hard use for 3 years is only just beginning to show wear and tear. I will definitely buy another one when the time comes.

Reduced my sleeping bag to fit my backpack!

I have a 20 degree synthetic bag that I couldn't get into the bag compartment of my Osprey backpack when stuffed in a regular dry bag. I'd known of compression sacks and have several Sea to Summit dry bags I use kayaking, so I thought I'd give their sack a try. I was just able, with a little effort, to get the sleeping bag in and seal the compression sack. I really didn't think it was going to squeeze down small enough to fit. I just started tightening the straps, going around and around the sack, ultimately getting the bag down to half the starting size. I have room to spare now! The sack did exactly what I had hoped it would.

Best compression/ dry bag I've ever used

Use these kayaking, so hold space is a premium. I use for sleeping bag and for clothes. I thought that I would get them primarily for compression and thought the dry bag was a nice plus. But it turns out that I've had to strap the one on the deck during some pretty heavy seas and they kept my gear dry. And they compress the sleeping bag into almost nothing, so they are a huge space saver. So use it as a compression sack or dry bag. Either way, the best of either I've ever used. The fact that it does both just makes it a fantastic value.

This is what I use to keep my down dry.

Wet down is worthless. Enter this bad boy. Totally waterproof way to bag and compress my down sleeping bag and insulated jacket/pants. I prefer down to synthetic for insulation for a variety of reasons, but primary among them is it is just more comfortable and breathable than even the latest synthetic options. This bag as been torture tested by myself in heavy rain uncovered for 1/2 an hour......no leaks. S2S says this product is not meant to be submerged, but......I did it anyways! No leaks after 5 mins submerged. Very trust worthy product when used correctly! Make sure you don't over fill so you can make sure you roll at least a few times before you buckle it closed.
