Works as Advertised

I like this product. I've used it with marginal results on the BD Momentum SA (budget/package rock harness) and then with good results on my newer Aspect ice climbing harness. Even with the Aspect last year, I dropped a couple of screws off of this Ice Clipper. I'm not BLAMING the gear, but it's a pretty simple concept and I'm not a complete idiot. I guess I was just intrigued by the fact that this kept happening. I was having a hard time with the gate staying closed during movement up the ice or reracking gear... I'll certainly use them, and even with the added effort that I spent to make sure I've got everything safe and careful, they save me time, energy, and panic when the Pump is Pumping...

Very handy

The ice clipper is another example of a simple, but really well thought out quality product from BD. It's great for racking your screws while climbing. You can hang your gloves from it or your tools during a rappel. The little nub on top keeps you from losing screws by allowing you to stack them on top while searching for the right size. I have them on my harness and one on the waistbelt of my pack.

Very handy.

Great piece of gear for holding your ice screws. The wire gate stays open when grabbing a screw then snaps back securly when done. The little 'hook' atop the clipper holds the screw you don't want out of the way, while you're grabbing the one you do want. Probably not strong enough to hold an ice tool so be sure it's backed up with a leash if you clip your tool to one of these.

light and functional for ice and more

I use these for ice tools, screws in the winter, and for general climbing in the summer. Anything seems to easily clip in and out of these with one hand. On my packs (epic 35 or mission 75) these hold my gloves and hat on hikes when there is no gear slung on them, very easy and convenient place to secure small items that I take on and off frequently.

SMOOTH Operator

I have been using this clipper for two seasons, especially with gloves on, this makes things a lot smoother and easier to operate, especially with one hand. I just wish BD had more in stock as I was about to purchase 3 more (one for my ice harness and 2 more for my 3 season harness).

I Don't Usually Go In for Accessories, But ...

I'm not a fan of accessories; they complicate an already dangerous sport. But not in this case. The Ice Clipper is a fabulous thing, and it makes a dangerous sport a bit less so.

Functional Product

Not much to say, these things do what they're supposed to do. They work great for holding ice screws and or tools on a harness.

Also a great big wall organizer

Easy clipping for organizing a smattering of gear while aiding or on a big wall. Not weight Bering...
