More than just a Divers wallet

I first started to use this brand of case when I started to scuba dive. It worked fine for shallower dives, like down to around 60 feet. I then started to use it when I travelled. Pretty soon I placed my regular wallet in a drawer and only use this case. I tend to travel light so it is perfect for me. I can carry credit cards, driving license, health ID card and cash. One has to fold cash into thirds to get it to fit. I have had no problems with this type of wallet unless you overstuff it and then the hinge will weaken and crack. I have travelled all over the world using this wallet and it has never failed me. Think about if you go to a resort on the beach or to the pool. Where do you place your room key? Most people put it in their shoe or wrap the towel around it. With this wallet you can take it with you in the water. I usually have to buy some each year as I get so many people asking me about them that I give them away to my friends. I find that the clear ones are the best because when the wallet is under a T-shirt the clear one doesn't show through, so most people don't even know that you have one on.

Can’t believe these are for sale anywhere. A roulette wheel comes to mind when describing the odds of water leaking in vs staying out. Don’t bother with this product. Off to see if something else exists.

Tough little case that keeps cards and cash dry

Who it’s for: Those that want to get out and get wet, but also have a need to store some credit cards or cash. What I like: The seals are strong and help assure you that your belongings will stay dry. It comes with a lanyard that you can wear around your neck. The plastic is very tough, which alleviates the fear of being dropped by a wave and cracking open the case. It can double as a smaller wallet when you are on the go and don't want to carry a larger wallet. What can improve: Though I didn’t have any issues with it keeping closed it would be nice to see a mechanical closure that prevents it from accidentally opening if it were caught on something.

DURABLE, CONVENIENT

I use this product similarly to how the previous writer did, however; after some age the solid side of the latch did get brittle and break just about five minutes ago. (I am ordering another to replace it.) I would like to see something a little longer so as to fit some forms of Identification that are a little longer, or one that would fit a passport without adding thickness. That would be ideal. I really have used the heck out of mine and recommend it to anyone looking for that small nick nack that has more than one use. It holds fishing/ hunting licenses well as well. that's my main use.

Works well

I have a number of badges/IDs for work and I use this every weekday. Proximity readers work through it and if I need to get one out it's easy. I open it at least twice a day, sometimes much more. Life of the latch is usually not my issue, as I've broken a few by banging the hinge enough to crack it, but they last a lot longer than the flimsy holders we get at work. And I'm not the only one in the office to use these.

Versatile Semi-Minimalist Wallet

I have been using one of these as my wallet for almost 10 years. I love that it carries a bit more than the typical slim wallet, while still keeping me limited to the essentials (license, medical insurance, credit and debit cards, and some cash). It’ll also keep things dry and float if I don’t pack it too tight. I always replace the string with a key ring and house key. I replace them every 2-3 years when either the hinge or catch on the upper cracks off.

Nice case but too small for a car key.

This case is idea if you're just carrying an id and credit card. It's too small for a car key which was my main requirement.

great until latch breaks.

The case works great, but sooner or later the latch breaks. I had 2 break already, but will continue to use these cases until I can find one comparable in size that is better. It works well around the neck when Kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, etc.

Thank you REI for finally carrying this product

I have used these as my sole wallet for probably 20 years and love it. Yes, latch will break if you try to put too much stuff in it, if you don't over stuff it will probably last >3 years at least. I have been asking REI to carry these for years. As another reviewer noted I buy several of these at a time and give them as gifts because people are often intrigued by them. They also make a much fatter version that doesn't work as a wallet and a thin passport sized one. Thank you REI.
