Industry standard for a reason...
Nothing much to say that hasn't been said about these. There is a reason BD is the industry standard...Solid nuts for all-around trad use. Perfect addition to any rack (esp for beginners learning to place pro - start out placing passive pcs and SLCD's will be a cakewalk).
Awesome
I recommend these to everybody. The curved shape seems to fit anywhere and they are easy to learn trad with. I often place them and think, "Man, I would love to fall on that piece"
Tried and True
Stoppers, nuts, chockstones, how can you go wrong with a solid set of passive pro? Chouinard, and now BD, has been producing these things since 1972 and while the basic premise remains the same, minor tweaks and improvements keep making them better. Color coding has been around for awhile and the latest version has the size of each stopper labeled on the wire tag, rather than on the nut itself (where it is quickly worn off). Not that I ever search by number, but it is nice and easy to see which nuts may have gone missing or need replacement after an epic adventure where one or two may have been swallowed....
Bread and Butter
These are good, no nonsense stoppers. Easy to place and retrieve. Really essential gear for thin splitters, building anchors. save your cams for the crux and earn some style points by using stoppers.
Great for starting a rack
I bought these and some hexes as the start of my trad rack. You just can't go wrong with these nuts. They cover a broad range and have 4 possible placement orientations expanding their versatility. I would get #1-3 as well even thought they say only for aid. You may need to add multiples of certain sizes for your area, but this kit will get it done for most varied width cracks that are not flaring outwards.
Essential for a reason.
They work great. Period. Having a "scooped-out" shape, they're really versatile, as it allows you to place the stopper facing either left or right inside a crag (depending on what fits better). One set alone covers most of what you'll need for top roping, but I'll buy another for trad.
great pieces
[...] Anyhow, the BD stoppers are very easy to place. They are not as versatile as the DMM wallnuts (in that they don't fit as wide a range of contours), but this is one potential benefit they bear, as good placements in the rock are easier to identify.
I teach an intro to climbing anchors course. The BD Stopper Set is a true classic. The color coding sequence matches nicely with the rest of the BD anchor products. This set shows the kN forces that each stopper can take based on which surfaces are engaged in the rock. The BD Stopper Set was my first nut set 15+ years ago, and they are still my go-to as I bought a new set earlier this year. Perfect for anyone's beginning traditional rack.

Great first set of Pro
Used these to set up a couple of topropes so far, looking forward to doing more with them. The range of nuts seems really versatile for the type of anchors I'm used too, with good overlap between the sizes. I did get one nut really jammed into a crack and it scuffed up the anodization pretty bad, but the structure is still fine and I'm looking forward to scuffing up the rest.
Rock’n Nutz!!
BD Stopper set have been excellent. I started out just placing gear while learning to lead on a top rope with a tail at Devils Lake and Petenwell Rock in Wisconsin. I’ve put a high value on stopper placement on trad because of there utility and flexibility once you have the placement down. I highly recommend this product to anyone starting out in trad climbing!
