Yakima Load Warrior Extension fits
My 16-year old car had adjustable cross bars and the Yakima Load Warrior fit easily. I replaced the car with a new car and the cross bars were not adjustable with the result that my over 15-year old Load Warrior was too short for the new cross bars. In fact the Yakima Web site said the Load Warrior was not suitable for my new car. I purchased the Yakima Load Warrior Extension with hope both that it would make my Load Warrior long enough for the cross bars and that the Extension would fit on a Load Warrior that was over 10 years old. Both of my hopeful ideas worked and I was surprised that I now have a workable Load Warrior basket on my new car.
Didn't fit the Load Warrior
It didn't fit the Load warrior. Very unhappy that I had to return it, and I need the extension in order for the Load Warrior to fit onto my car. The more time I spend with Yakima, the more I really don't want the thing any more, when I can get a generic one that will actually fit, cost a quarter of the cash, and not need more and more attachments to get it to fit. The attachments don't fit. Most of the authorized dealers don't have the attachments in stock. Or they don't have accessories that work with the Load warrior, nets, locks, or the correct cores to the locks, or extensions, or extensions that fit. Maybe this is a Yakima thing, and my warning to you is the brand, not REI. All these things makes the price go up at least 75%. So you will pay way more the just the 350 price of the original Load warrior. All which is going to be returned because I can't find any of this stuff in stock, or not without running around the Los Angeles area. And probably won't use it for the trip I was planning anyway. Love to spend money of good quality and high end things...Arcteryx for example is worth every penny. Yakima...not so much
Extension plus the crossbar
Had all the parts required and included the crossbar so I can reattach my bike carrier on top.
