Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every backpack should come with one of these!!! I own a bunch of backpacks and everyone of them has a Fifi hook looped onto the handle. I can't stress how handy it is to hang your backpack anywhere,,, really, anywhere! a branch, a chainlink fence, a crack in a big rock. really put a fifi on your pack and you'll never have to drop it on the wet ground again, even in the office you still be able to hang it somewhere instead of throwing it on the floor. Hey Black diamond designers,,, give a fifi hook with every pack you sell and give your customers one more reason to buy the best backpacks on the market and something no other companies have thought of or even offer,,, and if they do purchase another brand they'll still buy a fifi hook from BD to make they backpack complete. I use these to hang many things, they truely have hundreds of uses!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine The fifi hook isn't supposed to be a replacement for aiders, or jumars, or climbing shoes for that matter. It's *supposed* to release easily, and certainly shouldn't be used by itself unless you're hyper-vigilant. The BD fifi is perfect for what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just for hauling I have a fifi on each of my harnesses and I use it to aid as a quick weight bearing point. It works great when roped soloing for quickly hooking a piece, taking weight off your hands so you can fumble with the ropes. Also for drilling on lead you can step higher in the aiders to get the highest bolt possible. Or to sweep out the sand...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must for Every Sport Climber A Fifi hook enables the climber to clean their quickdraws off a steep route, without taking a possibly dangerous swing. On exploratory missions, this piece of gear also allows you to down lead and bail off a route if need be. I always keep a Fifi on my quickdraw rack and BD makes the best one on the market!

Questions & Answers

As a climber, I would be hesitant to assume what "body weight" means for the magnitude of potential strength... And if that's during a static or dynamic situation? What if I am 165lbs, and my buddy is 180lbs. A number or situation would be more relevant.

Thank you for your feedback. The "body weight" specification is provided by Black Diamond. We suggest contacting them directly for additional information.
