Does what it should

For the price, you can't go wrong. With 4 gear loops, it might not be ideal for massive racks on huge multipitch climbs. I pretty much use it to keep all my slings, carabiners, quickdraws and bits and pieces of trad gear organized. it's easy for taking gear through approaches to wherever i'm climbing. rack it with the heavier stuff towards the middle and a little at the top, or it tends to slide down a little bit, but the way the padding is designed, it slides so that you still have padding on your shoulder; not sling. overall, you can't go wrong for keeping your gear organized. you can't put everything in your pack, and when you're holding a rope, crash mat, etc. this makes things much more convenient.

Slung!

A comfortable sling that keeps your gear sorted. The loops on the sling keep all your gear from sliding into the center of the sling and bunching up. Makes trading off gear easy too. Just pass the sling. Not made in the USA :(

Looking for a replacement

Very uncomfortable to climb with. The sling slips and the gear slides to my front - usually at the worst time when pulling through hard moves. I am constantly tugging the strap across my opposite shoulder to pull the gear back to my side. When I slide the sling to access gear the padding is no longer on my shoulder. Maybe the one size fits all is partially to blame here. When I loosen it enough to fit me then 1/3 of the sling is not padded. A larger person would benefit from a longer length of padding.

Lifesaver if you have a small harness

It's not a perfect solution to the problem it's trying to solve; it tends to slide around a little bit and the gear loops are difficult to keep exactly where you want them, and gear still gets in the way a bit. However, it's a huge upgrade from just racking everything on your harness, especially if your harness is on the smaller side. I only have a BD Solution, which has to do gym climbing, and single and multi pitch trad and sport climbing, and the gear loops are just too small and in an awkward position for big trad hauls. This totally fixes that issue. Not perfectly though! Maybe if I had big dedicated trad harness, it would be less useful, but if you have a small harness, or just want a quick-and-easy place to put cleaned gear, this is great

Better than a simple sling! but not for everyone

Love this for organizing my gear, even on non big gear days, nice to not have everything slide into one another as with a typical gear sling. However, not for everyone since it's harder to actually climb with, and overkill for most routes. I've moved to mainly racking my gear on my harness since getting this guy, and it works great!

Keeps me a little more organized

I really like this sling. I use to carry my gear on just a shoulder length dyneema sling. The Metolius gear sling is much more comfortable and can hold a lot more while being much more organized.

Works, but not huge

This does exactly what it says at a decent price but be aware that even at its largest it isn’t huge (I measured about 50”). Cutting it close on comfort for anyone particularly broad.

Perfect Gear Organizer

I love the multiple loops, they make it really easy to rack lots of gear and then find it again quickly.
