Definitely Clean

For commuting into work 3-4 times a week, this stuff works great. Keeps everything clean and well lubed, as long as you remember to re-apply when appropriate. I purchased my second bottle a couple weeks ago because of how well the first one treated my bike during the summer months. Key words being "summer months". Now that it's starting to rain more often I've found that re-application of this lube is necessary on an almost daily basis. Something I expected based on the ratings on the back of the bottle. It's not great for wet conditions.

Dust and Grit Magnet

I'm kind of shocked just how much grit and dirt is picking up. I'm mostly riding on designated bike/walk trails and am riding in sunny and dry California. I wish it would at least shed some of the material it tends to attract, but it does not. It's enough that I feel the need to run my chain through the chain cleaner every 30 miles or two rides, whichever comes first. I tried some regular old lube and it's much much cleaner after 3 rides/50 miles. Perhaps it makes your chain sap less watts, maybe the dirt/grit is being extracted from the rollers... but it's just too much maintenance for me!

Not for your tinder dates

It’s good lube, but doesn’t taste good. Keeps the chain clean and quiet.

Tried them all: best one yet

I've tried a bunch of other dry lubes and none of them compare. It's clean, lubricates well and lasts more the rest. That's all you need.

love this stuff!

I have totally quit using oil-based lubricants since trying White Ligntning--it is low maintenence, doesn't attract dirt and keeps my chain running smoothly.

No “sticky greasy”

Great product. No sticky greasy…just a dependable protective coating.

Best Chain lube

This lube works great on the chain in dry conditions (wet or salty conditions a chain will rust with white lightning). I have have found that white lighting does not work as good on deraileurs compared to wetter lubricants;consequently, I use white lightning on the chain and a different lube for deraileurs.

Best chain lube I've used

I like this chain lube because it's the best I've used on most of my bike. I've used different chain lubes over the years, and always come to this particular lube. It's clean going on and keeps the chain clean without attracting to much dirt.

For very well maintained bikes

Chain was squeaking not long after using this. Took the bike in for repair of a different issue. The tech said that this product is more for very well maintained bikes, which mine is not.

Slick stuff

Lightning Lube Clean goes on a bit “chunky” because of the high wax solids content, but the solvent evaporates fairly quickly, leaving behind a very clean lube coating. We ride in a mix of sticky mud, some wet, and some dry to dusty. This seems to cover the whole gamut- it does not collect dust and grit like a wet lube, yet seems to hold off moisture pretty well. With Finish Line Wet I had to clean and re- lube after every or every-second ride. With this one I do it about every 10 rides or so, and have the feeling it may still be too often, as the chain remains remarkably clean. The few dollars extra in the sticker are WELL worth the clean chain and long lasting protection this chain lube offers. I have also used it on my sprockets, cassette and derailleurs to keep dirt, moisture etc out, with excellent success. Even leaves and such seem to stick less with this lube. Highly recommended.
