Ridiculous gripping ability...

I bought these a couple weeks ago and installed them as soon as I received them in the mail. Went biking the following day on some flat, rooty hard pack in Chesapeake, VA. It had been some time since I've been on my bike, so committing to good turns took a few minutes. With these tires though, I could feel the difference immediately, from my old tread to these. highly recommend these to anyone. Con's- Heavier than anticipated Terrible for pavement as you feel every knob of the tread as you ride like a jackhammer down the road.

Still comin' back for more

40 years ago when my friend with his own mountain biking team suggested I try this tire I was leary. I never rode a directional tire before and was nervous about having limited, omnidirectional control on the front of my mountain bike. No worries now! It has taken me safely uphill and down, on wet, dry, mud, loose dirt, gravel and pavement. I don't tear it up like I used to when I wore a younger man's shoes, but when I do, the VelociRaptor is still there for me. All teeth and claws... Ready to get the job done. Ride on! Life Is Good.

Great Tire!

Great tire. I have used these in the NW-Washington/Oregon Mud, Rocks of Nevada, and Sandy Trails of So Cal and they just grip like crazy and provide a sure ride on technical and fast rides up and down. They feel like motorcycle tires because they track so well. SoCalRemax-com.

Awesome tire

Excellent tire with excellent traction. Perfect for when you need the extra traction for rocks, roots, or anything else the trail throws at you. Expect rocks and sticks to be kicked up by these "grabbers". I have them on front and rear of my full suspension bike and won't put anything else on it. LOVE THEM!!!

Best 26" tires for the money

Have been using this for 8 years now. Tough as nails and reliable even on wet tarmac. I'm glad they still make them.

Satisfaction is Always Relative

I ride an ancient Gary Fisher Sugar 3 from 1999. The Hutchinson tires on my mountain bike were almost as old and finally started disintegrating. I replaced the front and rear tires with the WTB VelociRaptor tires and immediately noticed an improvement in traction - slipping and sliding in loose dirt and gravel was significantly reduced and I have much more confidence in tight turns. It's hard to compare two-decade-old tires to a new set. Satisfaction is always relative. But am I satisfied? Absolutely!

Fantastic tread

I rode this tire set HARD for a year and loved them but the front got punctured/torn within that time. I realized I had to replace the front tire because I got a few random pinch flats. I would say that these are not the most durable and the price is a direct reflection but I do love the tread set. Super great and allows you to shred gnar.
