Side Loader
Challenge to determine best location on my truck shell. Once location was determined, install was straight forward. Quality of product is good - usual Yakima. Would buy again or recommend to others.
Product Fine - Marketing Rip-off
I bought these Side Loader Brackets at the same time that I bought a set of Yakima rack mounts so that I could add two rack rails to the top of my fiberglass camper shell. The rack mounts come 4 to a set. Make sense, you need 4 mounts to have 2 rack rails. HOWEVER, these Side Loader Brackets are only sold in pairs @ $60 a pair. They are just a four pieces of metal and some bolts and nuts. So, you must spend $120 to attach the Yakima rack mounts that cost $220 for the set. (And I was grumbling for having to spend $60 for what I thought would be 4 side loader brackets.) Again when I placed my order, I didn’t notice that the Side Loader Brackets are sold in pairs only, so when I received my order, I discovered that I would be short a pair of Side Loader Brackets. Since it was only a few days before a trip where I needed rack mounts on top of my fiberglass camper shell, I decided that I could DIY a set of four Side Loader Brackets. They turned out fine, and after a 1500 mile trip and over many dirt roads, I have had no issues with my DIY side loader brackets or the Yakima rack rails. I returned the purchased Side Loader Brackets and got a refund of $63.
