No Color Choice??

Product is great, but I’m frustrated with not being able to select a color from the multiple color options. If I were shopping in-store, paying the same price, I could choose a color. I live VERY far from a physical location, so shopping online I’m penalized by having to accept a random color? I should have the same choice as any other customer who buys this at any REI. Color is not unimportant to many people. I think your shoppers, and loyal members, deserve a simple drop-down to choose a color option just like any other item sold in multiple colors in any online store. Please change this.

Uncomplicated and functional

Don't expect to look at this chalk bag and be wowed. But when you are climbing, you don't really expect to look at the chalk bag. Do you?

Nicely sized bag.

Started climbing a couple of months ago and needed a chalk bag. I found that most of the bags were too small for my liking and wanted something a bit deeper. This bag delivers in that department for sure, and without being too big. In short, no complaints, it's got the roomy factor and it stands up on its own when I'm not wearing it.

Looking for a new chalk bag? Check out Metolius.

Looked at several other brands and chose Metolius. Well made and functions as advertised.

Great bag, great price

Great bag for a good price. Has room for me to get my big hands in it, but hasn't spilled any chalk yet! Drawstring closes tight, too. Comes with a good belt, too, that fits my 40ish waist fine. I wish there was a loop for a biner onto a harness, but I just use the belt above the harness and it works fine.

Chalk bag

Nothing fancy, just a regular chalk bag that will carry your chalk, some times your phone, or whatever you want to put in it.

Simply Does the Job

Honestly? It does the job, and that's all I could ask for. I'm an amateur climber. I needed a chalk bag, so I got a chalk bag, and I got the most affordable one out of all the options. My only complaint is that I wasn't allowed to select a color, and I would have really loved the red one (I got a blue one instead). Other than that, it does the job, so I'm happy!

Drawstring Durability Drops from a 5 star to a 4

Size, actual bag internal and external materials, waist strap closure & stability on the ground/mats is all phenomenal for this bag, especially given the price compared to other bags. That said, the outer layer of the drawstring de-laminated, leaving the thinner inner string as all that's left (in order to properly close it, I had to untie the knot, which was a pain, and cut the remaining external layer off, otherwise it remained at 75% closed max). Now, it still secures closed, but is more liable to slip through the fastener unintentionally, like when I'm walking with the bag around the gym, or when I land on the pads and the bag gets knocked over. If the inner strings were any thinner it simply wouldn't close. Probably more worth it to find a higher quality bag with a better fastening system rather than having to pay for multiple cheaper bags like this one - unsure if it's the sharp edges of the cheap plastic fastener, or the outer layer of the drawstring, but something caused it to fray far too early into its' life, and that fraying went from "oh it's loose" to "wow this thing doesn't work anymore" really quick.

Good bag

Good bag. Gets a little messy on top of bag, but overall a good buy. Will stand upright on its own, so thats a plus. Doesn't spill chalk easily.

Metolius Chalk bag

It offers a variety of colors, has side pouch to store brushes, tape, food, etc. Great chalk pots too.
