The OG Classic! (plus 32/30oz explanation)
This is the classic Nalgene bottle that started it all, albeit with subtle changes that some people in the reviews are getting wrong. No, this is not a smaller bottle. No, this doesn't only hold 30oz instead of 32. See the pictures I've attached, they've simply changed the markings numbers on the printed-on gauge. The physical bottle is the same as my oldie but goodie.

Presently NOT Satisfactory
I bought two of these bottles three days ago, and when I got home I filled them with a very weak, dilute solution of water and Simple Green. The intent, of course, was to be certain that the bottles' interior was clear of any residue or anything else that may have lingered from manufacturing. I shook them vigorously, and then over the next couple of days I poured out the contents during the course of washing dishes and a cast iron skillet. As the two bottles emptied, I rinsed them several times, and then filled them with filtered water and put them in the trunk of the car. I used one bottle this morning at the gym, and it tasted strongly of Simple Green and smelled strongly. I threw out most of the water, brought the bottle home and washed it again with very hot water, and put it on the sink with the cap open. The bottle literally STINKS of Simple Green, and I'm very discouraged with this purchase. I have a half dozen lexan bottles that I've used for years, washing them with Simple Green and a bottle brush. The lexan bottles are truly indestructable, but some of the plastic caps have begun leaking, and this is a problem when they fall over in the trunk and an ounce or two leaks out before I catch it. The lexan bottles retain absolutely no hint of Simple Green, but the writeups on these Nalgene bottles were so glowing that I thought it might be time to start buying replacements. I really regret buying these, and if the bottle now open & empty on the sink doesn't lose the smell by tomorrow, then these are going back to REI. At the moment, I cannot at all recommend them, but if the condition clears up, I'll amend this writeup. Ralph L. Seifer, Long Beach, California.

decorate for a perfect bachelorette party and more

just hosted a bachelorette party- everyone decorated their own Nalgene water bottle with different stickers. The white bottle was the perfect background for all the colorful stickers. Everybody loved theirs! We then had something for water for our hike the next morning. Some people have even added more stickers from summer travels. I flew in from out of state, so I ordered a bunch online from REI (on sale, yay!) and shipped them to the house we stayed at. We had extra so my sister ended up returning them to her REI since she drove, which was easy enough. Super cool to see some people use them on a later backpacking trip! Great memories!

Indestructible

I've spent years looking for a water bottle with a quick/easy open lid (as in: not screw-on) that doesn't break or leak. It doesn't exist. I finally gave up on that and went and got one of these today. My parents have several. They've had 'em forever. There's nothing you can do to break these things, at least not without actually trying. And they never leak. I'm sure I'll have this thing for ages. Maybe my whole life, if I don't lose it or something. I'll still keep my eye out for that perfect easy-open bottle, but at least now I know that I'll have this as a backup when I need to throw a bottle in my pack or keep it in my sleeping bag on a cold night, and not have to worry about it one bit.

lighter bottle

I ordered two of these ultra light bottles to replace the regular Nalgne bottles I used with my Maxpedition Falcon 2 pygmy backpack. The ultra light's are about 3 oz lighter and hold about 2 oz less water, at about 35 oz and they're a little shorter and fit better in the pack's water pouches. The regular bottles hold about 37oz.

Terrific Urine Bottles

The product is as advertised. I’m NOT using it for drinking water. Instead, I’m using a couple of these for night-time urine bottles. Wide mouth for a guy is a must for obvious reasons. If I’m tent camping, having one of these handy prevents having to exit my tent. If I remember, I even carry one of these for backpacking. We have a composting toilet in our camp trailer. DW sits down on the Nature’s Head to drain liquid. I use one of these bottles. Having a leakproof lid a highly important. Since this is a softer plastic compared to the hard Nalgene of other similar bottles, it is less likely to crack if it falls on a rock.

Cheap and durable

Great product. I have this and 2 lexan ones. I use the lexan ones for flavored things because this model now smells like grape powerade. I have to look up a few more ways to clean it. For plain water it works great and I use it when I plan on getting dirty because its not pretty like the lexan ones. (I use those for everyday use) I would suggest an insulator, because it does sweat a lot and in my opinion isnt great at staying cool.(it is only plastic though!) I use the neoprene one for now and am working on gettin the OR bottle parka. Cant go wrong with one of these Nalgene's!

Best Water Bottle purchase I have made!

I use this bottle every day. No joke. I put it on my desk and when it gets low you can see the water and then I get more water. It serves as a great reminder to keep using it. The bottle is not hard plastic like the Everyday Bottles from Nalgene, and for that I love it more. The Loop top is great because you don't have to worry about losing the cap and if you do, they make replacement caps. I take the bottle to the gym, out walking, camping, put in my backpack when riding my bike and use it at home. I love this bottle so much that I currently own 4 32oz. Nalgene bottles and would love to buy the 48oz. Silo! Had my bottles for over 2 years now and use them daily and have yet to show signs of wear. The only things I have a problem with but aren't that big of a deal is after I fill the bottle up and then go to play volleyball, in between games I grab a drink and the threads on the bottle itself hold water and every time it drips a little near the bottom of my lip. The other thing I can see as a problem is the loop to the cap, it doesn't appear to be strong enough. I took this bottle with me to Europe and had it clipped to my backpack with a carabiner and it held just fine, but I can see it not working so well when some has it on a backpack and runs with it. Then I think it would bust. Overall I am so pleased with this bottle. So much that I keep buying more and more. It may be a downfall for me.

Are you kidding me?

This bottle is bomb proof. I use it daily for school, work, camping/climbing on the weekends. sometimes i forget it in the car and in more than one occasion it has frozen and turn into a round bubble, a couple hours at room temperatures and returns to its original shape. Bang, throw, drop, kick, bury it... do your worst and for under ten bucks you won't find anything better. I'm getting 4 more.

Incorrect products being shipped.

I would be fairly cautious ordering this one from the site. You will not receive the product pictured. I've instead received the 30 oz version of this bottle. Not the worst thing to ever happen but slightly frustrating if you expect the 32 oz bottle. As far as the bottle that I did receive, It seems to be a decent product and holds enough water to stave off the daily thrist.

Nalgene bottle - perfect!

This Nalgene ultralite wide-mouth water bottle is perfect! Thein store price was very reasonable-to-cheap. It is extremely practical, and that is a very important word to me when I decide what to get and bring with me on the trail. It is not too hard, as in to run the risk of cracking if I dropped it or fell on it (like other colored one, that are more expensive). It can also be used as a lantern when you put your headlamp around it while full of water. All-in-all, this simply the "perfect" water bottle for the trail.
