Great versatile summer shoe

I wear these shoes all summer from going to work to walking the dogs. I like Keens for their wider toe box and these are a little less roomy than a Targhee but for someone like me with wide feet they still feel great. I usually wear thinner socks in these for the summer they are perfect. I did try a pair of thicker wool socks with them, and it was a little tight. I normally have to change out the insoles in my Keen hiking boots because they just don't have the cushion I like, but these Versacore shoes are pretty squishy and comfortable right out of the box. They also breath really well. I like these shoes so much that this is my second pair.

not good quality

The top inner lining failed. Been using this pair to go to the office. After 4 months the top inner lining of the left shoe failed. Not good quality. Also, the inner sole is not very comfortable and if you walk for many hours you will feel how hard the inner sole is.

Great shoes, if you do this...

I am a long-time Keen consumer so when I needed a new pair of everyday shoes, the Versacore Speed was an obvious choice. The insoles, however, are wafer thin, provide no support, and were packed out within 15 miles of walking. After plunking down more money for good insoles, they are now perfect. Keen, you can do better for a shoe at this price point.

Shoe Review

Comfortable shoe. Fit is small so I got a larger size. Toe box is large and comfortable. Lacks stability so I added an insert.

Designed for Ankle Destruction

I like how much airflow these have BUT the have an critical flaw. The flaw is how they really really want to roll. In in the short weeks wearing this I have had more near misses with rolled ankles than I have had in the last 10 years. If you are walking on anything other than flat paved roads, these are a bad idea.

Great brand! Disappointing model.

I purchased these to replace my aging INXS Speed shoes, the non-waterproof version. They're similar in design, so I didn't expect much of a difference. Where the INXS were instantly comfortable and cushy out of the box, these were stiff with little to no cushioning on the soles, or under the arches. The sides of the shoes were stiff and somewhat uncomfortable. I've only worn them once so far and am leaning towards returning them. I'm going to give them a couple more chances before I make up my mind. On the plus side they have the standard, wide toe box that I love so much and expect from Keen shoes. Also, Keen has changed the laces. The good: They're now flat with an almost sticky touch to them. The old laces on previous models I've had were sort of slick and were constantly coming untied. Super annoying when you're wearing gators on the trail...The bad: They're about 2 inches too short. There's enough lace to tie them, but just barely. A a few more inches would have been nice. All in all, so far, a disappointment.

Favorite shoes

Love these shoes. They are supportive, cushy, and work with my bunion. So sorry they are being discontinued. I am buying up a few pairs for the future.
