On sale for a reason
The pants fit well and are comfortable. But the rivets near the pocket corners popped off on all three pairs the first time they were worn. The pants were on final sale, no returns and I thought I was getting a good deal.......not true. I bought a faulty product and Free Fly got to recoup some of their costs for a poorly made product. Clearly they care about their bottom line but that shouldn't come at the cost of making enemies of the brand. I won't buy there stuff anymore and I hope you choose to spend your money on a better made product.
Nice
Although the pants feel good to the touch and stretch where needed, they are a bit on the large size at the waist and the inseam seems a little uncomfortable.
Tight legs and misleading color.
I’m a 32x30 in any and all brands. The waist and length fit perfect. Maybe even a little wiggle room in the waist. But the fit in the thighs and calves are very tight. They fit more like joggers. Based on the description, no way I could wear these with leather boots as advertised. Buyer beware if you have the slightest muscle tone as they are not advertised as “slim fit”. They are. I was also disappointed in the color. The “Tobacco” color both sounds and looks more brown. In reality, they are more green. All in all, the quality is good! I just feel mislead based on sizing concerns and color. Would love the opportunity to exchange for something I could actually want, wear and enjoy. Sadly, I don’t enjoy, want or would wear these.
Thinner than expected, in two ways
After buying a loving my topogrid pants I was eager to pick up some more free fly pants. When these came up on sale I snatched up a pair. Unfortunately, the material was a lot thinner than I expected but that isn't the worst thing. Even more unfortunately the fit is much tighter through the calves than I usually wear. I am hoping that the material will stretch out a bit more with time. However right now from the knee down it looks like I am wearing tights.
Soft and comfortable everyday pants
I am very pleased with the Stretch Canvas 5 Pocket Pant. They are soft and comfortable and fit well. I wear them to work or just around town. The quality construction of the pants is what I've come to expect from Free Fly and they are definitely well made. The reason why I did not give them 5-stars is for a minor observation (or pet peeve). As the pants taper, the area around the knees "feel" a little tight, it's not deal breaker by any means and other than that, the pants are great!
Comfy Pants
I bought a size 36x34, fits pretty good but a little large in the waist. I don't mind, I have belts. Super comfy for just casual wear, but I wouldn't hesitate to also bring these on a trip with me. I'm certain they'd hold up to some light hiking, or general adventuring. The color is great as well, and a nice change to my usual black everything. A big bonus is that Free Fly is a very eco-friendly brand, and we should all support brands like this more.
Worn once
I love this model pants and will be glad to change to a 5 star review once Free Fly contacts me back and helps to rectify my situation. The first night I wore the pants the rear belt loop literally fell off the pants as I was putting on a belt. I am sure it is just a rare flaw as I have had great luck with all my Free Fly garments. I sent an email to Free Fly but no one has contacted me as of yet. Will update once they do.
Durable and Confident
This is a re-order of these Canvas pants. I have been wearing them for several years and needed to buy some newer ones, My go to for global travels and hiking. These are durable, flexible, and the colors are great for outdoor. If you want a lighter weight go Breeze or Latitude but for durability in the color and mor unknown areas these are highly recommended. I will admit i did have them tailored to fit they were long.
Love the trousers
The canvas 5-pocket are a great 3-season pant. I'm 5'6, 160 lbs, and a true 31" waist. Tried both the 30/30 and the 32/30 ... preferred the 30/30. Room in the waist was fine, but a tad fitted in the thighs. But i found the 32/30 too much in the waist and butt. How about 1" waist increments FreeFly? ... then they'd be a 5-star. Otherwise, great casual, comfortable pants.
Business & Casual
“Oh my god I love those,” was my wife’s first reaction to seeing these on me. You can dress these up for a business casual workplace or dress them down for running about town. From the classroom to the barroom and just about everywhere in between, these pants are right at home with the comfort & style to go the distance. My only regret is buying just one pair.
