I purchased these shoes to hike moderate to rugged short hikes. I need a shoe that will keep pebbles and debris out of my shoes but not put pressure on my sensitive ankle bones. I have narrow feet and pretty strong ankles so I don't need a lot of ankle support. I think that these shoes run narrow so they work well for me. I originally ordered a size 9 because that is how my foot was measured with the online size guide provided. The 9s were too short and a bit tight so I returned and exchanged them for size 10 which fit perfectly. I wear size 10 in athletic shoes so I should have used that as my guide in the first place. I have worn them only inside for several hours a day to make sure they work before trying sidewalks and trails. I am keeping my fingers crossed for how they perform on the trail. They look good and the loops are helpful and necessary for putting them on and taking them off. I am happy with these shoes and the sale price.
Sized up and still too short in length. Plus, it's next to impossible to get your foot into the shoe.
