Very lightweight shoes with good grip! These were slightly more rolly underfoot than I would like, but I am used to lower profile shoes, so it's an adjustment. I took them out for a road run and cut across some wet grass to test traction. They felt responsive and did not slip. I noticed rolling onto my toes more than I usually like on downhills, but feel it's something I could adjust to.
I've never worn such a lightweight or "fast" looking trail shoe, but this one really delivers. They're springy but maintain grip and have the subtle rocking motion of a road shoe, but the substance you need for trails. The blaze orange color is awesome, but those pure white soles won't last long! My only complaint is the tongue and eyelet come pretty far up on my ankle which caused some uncomfortable rubbing. I still noticed it in thicker socks and will be curious to see how it feels for longer mileage. So far, for short stuff, not a nuisance enough not to wear them. This is a really sharp looking, nice shoe.
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. My first impression of the shoes when I took them out of the box weren't great. I didn't really expect much from them. They have very thick, bright white soles, but the shoes were very lightweight. I liked the color, but the fabric of the shoe itself felt very thin, definitely not when I'm used to in my running shoes. The shoes were laced pretty tight, and I was afraid that it was going to be a tight fit. But once I loosened the laces and got my feet in, they were surprisingly comfortable. I'm usually a size 7 with fairly wide feet, it's been a perfect fit. I will note that I'm not able to just slip these shoes on like my other running shoes. I can't use a shoe horn either, since there's not much give unless you untie and loosen the laces. I didn't think I'd like them, but I love how thick the soles are. They're very springy and bouncy. And my first impression of the fabric was right, it's very thin and especially noticeable at the toes. I usually wear colorful socks, and you can see right the top of the shoes into the toe box! But the good thing about it is that there's a lot of ventilation, and I could feel my feet were cooler after wearing them for a long time. As far as looks go, I've gotten a lot of compliments on the look of the shoes so far. But I went for a run after it had been raining, and the soles really show dirt and mud. To me, the most notable thing about the shoe is the heel-to-toe drop. I haven't had a shoe with this big of a drop. It was unexpected, and it took a while for me to get used to it. Actually, I don't know if I'm fully used to it. They feel fine while walking, but I need to run in them a little more to see if they'll become my go-tos. So far, they're still in the running!
I’ll start with the fact that I should have ordered a 9.5 instead of a 9! That was 100% my fault! Nonetheless, the 9 fits and feels pretty good! So… here goes… I’m wearing these shoes predominately for hiking and trail running. The laces are amazing in that they do not slip… at all! This can make for a bit of a tricky job getting them on - you really have to pull the laces out a lot because they won’t give as you try to pull on the shoe. But, once on, they are solid! Unlike my other shoes that I’m constantly leaning over to retie! If you have issues with shoes that are high in the ankle bone area, these might not be for you. They hit me funny at first, but did break in nicely and feel good after just one wear. The tread is great for hiking and trail running and they are super comfy and well cushioned. All in all, these are really nice shoes! I wish I’d gotten the larger size!
The shoes are very light and comfortable. They came with their shoelaces tied very tight so it looked it wasn't going to fit but since I have pretty narrow foot, I could actually get my foot comfortable in. It didn't leave much lace left to tie the shoe, I would probably get longer laces. They have a very nice cushion when you walk or run. I'm not a huge fan of the color choices but the ombre looks nice.
This shoe is comfortable and bouncy, but with one fatal flaw. The place where the upper mesh and the reinforced toe upper meet is tight and right across the big toe. This means that there’s very little space for your toe to flex up and down as you pick through terrain. The only other shoes I’ve ever put on that did this were Atreyu’s trail shoes. Wanted to love these shoes, but took 5 steps indoors and knew they’d go back. (Bought online on special as my local store didn’t have them.)
Soft and flexible heel - no stiff counter or collar - but still very secure. Wonderful if you have skinny ankles and stiff collars are bothersome. No heel slip issues (which I often have). Upper is overall very simple and roomy. If you have any kind of toe/forefoot issues or need extra room - bunion, bursitis, sesamoid issues, othotics - this is a really great option. I put in a Dr. Scholl's metatarsal pad under the insole and there' still plenty of room. I also tried them with Powerstep insoles and no heel slip problems. The insole that comes with the sneaker is actually much more comfortable and substantial than common sockliners in most brands. At first the stack height felt a little high for trails, but after a couple miles, I realized I really wanted that protection. I still had ground feel, and again, there's such good security for a remarkably minimal upper. I actually would not want to go down to a lower stack. They're a bit heavy. I think it's a great sneaker for everyday enjoyable runs, not if you're trying to move fast. The outsole lugs/grips are extremely practical. I think Craft markets these as a road-to-trail or all terrain. I have only worn them on trails but am extremely satisfied. I have very painful feel and all kinds of issues with my feet and these are pretty remarkable. Highly recommend. My success with this model has made me interested in exploring other Craft models.
These shoes are sooooooo comfortable! I have a narrow foot (7.5 or 8 AA in athletic shoes, 38 sandals and 39 athletic Euro, bought an 8), so am hesitant to buy shoe brands that I am not familiar with. I am a huge fan of Tommy Rivers Puzey (Rivs), and Craft was such a supportive sponsor throughout his harrowing battle with cancer, so I started looking at and buying Craft gear. I was in the market for a supportive shoe, that offered adequate cushion to my feet. I have severe plantar fasciitis. So bad that the heel bone is pulling away from my foot, and heel pain so bad I could barely walk. These shoes allow me to stand / walk all day long. I intend to work back up to jogging, then running (former soccer/football and runner). I initially bought the Nordlite Carbon in white, which I returned because there was zero likelihood that I could keep them marginally clean. I bought these Nordlite Ultra’s in the dawn/flex color (purple). I absolutely adore these shoes and they were well worth the price.
I loved the color and cushioning of this shoe. It had lots of room except for the toe box was too shallow causingmy big toe to continuously hit the top of the shoe. I had this problem both in size 6.5 and size 7. The shoe size was slightly small. I am normally a 6.5. Returned both pairs.
Las mejores zapatillas que he tenido para caminar y correr. Geniales para explorar la naturaleza. Mis pies están agradecidos 😍
