Free Country  Aeris Super Softshell Jacket - Women's

This is an excellent soft shell with some surprisingly sweet "extra features" for the price. The hood is detachable -- but highly secure when attached (there's a zipper as well as some buttons). The metal zippers will last much longer than plastic ones. The thumbhole cuffs will give me a great seal when I wear gloves. Best of all and most surprising, it is incredibly soft inside -- softer than the typical fleece found in most soft shells. FWIW, I disagree with the comments that suggest sizing up if you want to wear a sweater under it. I'm 5'6", 123 lbs., I usually wear a small, and ordered a small -- there's plenty of room for a sweater or sweatshirt. I'm looking foward to wearing it through the chilly months of late fall, early Winter and early Spring.

I was expecting a slightly heavier weight jacket, if I'm honest, but have found the fleece lining provides adequate warmth, even when shoveling snow - especially when wearing a fleece, sweater or hoodie underneath. The pockets inside the jacket are large enough to hold my wallet in one and mobile phone in the other. Very convenient for days I dont want to carry my handbag. The jacket arrive in a timely manner. I recommend this product. I am 5'1, weigh 135 lbs and intentionally ordered one size up so I can layer a hoodie underneath without feeling constricted - Size Large (typically I wear a medium).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a gift for myself. This has been my go to jacket for this winter. It has been raining, it’s been windy, and this jacket has had me covered. It’s warm, comfortable and doesn’t feel bulky.

I’m so amazed at how warm this jacket is. It’s not bulky nor heavy at all and yet was surprisingly warm. The quality of this jacket was impressive- it has fleece lined pockets and the zippers are easy to zip. I loved the concept of Free Country to use recycled plastics which was the main reason I purchased from them but to find such wonderful high quality product is an added plus. It does fit true to size, but I think I will size up next time (just for jackets) so that if I decided to add more layers underneath there’s added room to allow that.

I like to walk, and really wanted interior pockets to carry phone, keys, etc. It’s also a great weight for my region (SF Bay Area). I ordered a size up, so the sleeves are too long, but I want to be able to wear lighter and heavier shirts with it. I like the quality of the zippers. I nearly always struggle with zippers 🤪, but these seem to work very smoothly. I love the soft interior fabric! It was also a good price compared with other similar jackets meeting my criteria.

Color and quality of this jacket is great. I do wish it sat just a few inches more mid hip, the elastic in back came up quite high on me as I have a short torso. I am 245lbs, 5'4 and fuller around the middle. The fit was true to size with room for L/S. It is a little large at the top of the arms but that will work better for layering. . the hood is also a little strange as it sits very loose but I plan on wearing a hat under.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved the jacket but it was too small thru the upper arms. I tried to exchange for the next size up but it was sold out. Very sad to return it. I would expect an active wear jacket to have freer movement. I contemplated keeping it because it was exactly what I have been looking for. But I knew the arms would drive me crazy. A really nice lining in the hood and then a different lining in the body of the coat.

I would probably not wear a bulky sweater underneath and zip it, a size up would be too big. I like that it has a removable hood. I would prefer that the sleeve zipper and zipper pull not be so bright and shiny but will get used to it. Nice tailoring. I'm happy with the purchase. Great price on sale.
