I don't know if it just got a defective product, but I bought these leggings and the matching top and within less than six months of very light use, the fabric has holes everywhere (both the top and these bottoms). Not holes at the seams.... no, just random holes in the fabric, and not even in high wear spots. I've never had a baselayer do this before. It was comfortable while it lasted, but overall extremely poor quality.
Hi Andrea, thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with the Kyanite Baselayer Bottom and matching top. We're glad to hear you found these items comfortable but are sorry that neither piece held up as expected. We understand how disappointing this must be and would be happy to assist you further. Please feel free to submit a Product Service Request form and our After-Sales team can take a closer look at the issue: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service/service-request
The fit and styling is much improved from my last pair of RHO leggings and was excited to find that I could replace them with these. However the fabric seems thinner and not as warm as some other polartec tights I have which are soft and cosy for my dog walks in frigid weather. I feel that these are really a base layer or to be worn in milder weather. I like the tatsu color but would prefer a darker olive and since I am on taller side, another 1/2" in length would help to tuck inside socks/boots. Since I have already worn them, I plan on keeping them but am still on the hunt for some soft warm leggings!
Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Kyanite Baselayer Bottom. We appreciate your comments and we will make sure to pass them to our team.
They are very warm and comfortable. They fit true to size. The quality of the fabric is good and they are easy to move around in.
I bought a pair of these baselayer bottoms in the Stratus colour in my usual size (medium) and am obsessed! They are sooo comfortable and soft, and have a nice stretchy waistband that is quite high so they'll stay up. I've worn them under my uninsulated ski pants and they keep me warm on resort days up WhistlerBlackcomb. I'm super happy with these and are my favourite piece of ski gear I've purchased this season. If you want a more compressed fit, size down... I could probably get away with a size small and I don't say that often.
Great base layer for snow sports. I’ve been wearing 2 pairs of base layer pants for skiing to accomplish the warmth I needed. Just tried these today - they’re awesome! A little like pulling on a wetsuit with regard to a snug fit but once on they’re very comfortable, fleece lined, warm but not bulky at all. I highly recommend these base layer pants from Arcteryx.
These bottoms are super soft and comfortable, and are my go-to base layer for cold weather low output activities like easy hikes, mellow resort days, or just wearing around the city. I like the side pocket for my phone if i’m wearing them as my only layer, or my keys if they are under a shell.
These are what I most looked forward putting on in my tent after a long back of hiking in all weather conditions! Breathable, warm + not too tight. My only con is that after wearing them every night on the CDT (some daytime hiking too) is that they do become see through.
I had two pairs of the previous version. My puppy put holes in them. The new version has an updated waist that will be even better for backpacking. I like the thigh pocket as well - fits a phone so I am more likely to take photos of my adventures.
This is definitely a new winter staple for me! I wore this underneath another pair of pants when hiking in the snow and it kept me warm when it was about -2° C outside. I don’t think I would wear this on its own unless I’m lounging at home
Comfortable, soft, my go to for layering under ski pants. Not super snug on the leg fit.
