While I agree with other reviewers that the laces could be 2 inches longer, it's certainly not a big deal. I love these boots; they are my 3rd pair of Salomon hikers and they're fabulous. I have difficult feet to fit--wide at toe, high arch and narrow heel, so these are magical. While they ride my heel (as do almost all my shoes/boots, they are so soft, there is no blistering when wearing smooth wool hiking socks. As for the squelching noise complained about by others, as soon as you scuff the sole up a bit by walking on gravel or rough terrain, the sound stops. I haven't truly tested their waterproofness, but they're GoreTex so I don't expect the problems some say they've had. The other complaint people have is that the tongue is too narrow; I do agree there, but on my foot it doesn't matter. I feel snugly fitted.

Not for wet weather walking

Bought these Dec 2024 and have worn them every day for long dog walks. They've been very supportive round the ankle, if a little wide. Unfortunately they failed the heavy rain test today!! My feet were squelching and when I took the boots off after 1.5 hours, I could pour the rain water out of them. Very disappointed, my previous Salomon walking boots have always kept my feet dry. On this basis would not recommend.

Absolutely love it. I have broken my ankle and since then when ever I’m doing extreme activities I need to have ankle support, and this shoes just did the best for it. I used them for a hiking/climbing Via Ferrata in Murren and they worked great. They are comfortable and there was nothing like “breaking into the shoes” sort thing.

Light and comfy from first wear

Bought these to replace my last pair of hiking boots and my first wear was a timed 10k walk. Love how light they are and comfy straight from the box. Feel supportive but non-restrictive. Slight question on their complete waterproof-ness but good enough for my purposes (dog walking, easier hiking and lowland search & rescue)

Very comfortable and supportive boots. I haven't worn them in the wet and challenged them yet, but I have high hopes. The sizing is good...go up a size larger than your shoe size. I've had great walks over the past couple.of months we've been together.
