I bought this jacket for my daughter who is notoriously heavy-handed on any type of outdoor gear and is hard to fit size wise. Materials and features are top notch earning the high price tag. Fit runs big around the hips. Quality of the waterproofing and taping is flawless along with top notch durable YKK zippers. Despite the lack of solid color choices(there’s only black and seafoam green), the jacket is worth every penny. If there are future improvements, I would recommend at least 100 g insulation about the chest and torso and 80 g in the sleeves consistent with the lesser expensive alternative Snow Crew jacket, which is a little bit warmer and 30% cheaper.

Warm but not durable

I have used this jacket for 15 resort ski days, ranging from 5 to 32 degrees F, and dumping snow and sunny days. This jacket is very warm, I have enjoyed reducing the number of layers underneath. During two snowstorms, the outer layer sheds the moisture; it did not soak up the moisture. I like the longer length below my waist, keeping me warmer on the chairlifts. The fit is good overall and true to size. The hood fits over my ski helmet and is comfortable. While this jacket is warm for chairlift laps, if you are working hard (breaking trail or skiing hard above 30 degrees) it is too much. I would likely look for a layering system for sweaty ski situations. The cons: The biggest downside to date is the durability of the outer material. There are tears already developing. It seems to be happening anywhere I have normal items (car keys, sunglasses, etc) stashed in pockets. With the wear already showing, I am not sure this jacket is going to last more than 2 seasons of 30+ ski days. My last Gore-Tex jacket lasted me more than 10 years. I wish there was a pass pocket on the left forearm sleeve. The wrist cuffs keep the cold air out of the sleeves. I can't wear the thumb hooks, however. The thumb hooks pull on the entire sleeve (the entire sleeve is too short for my arms when the thumbs are hooked).
