Gentle hikes not difficult or rugged

This is a very comfortable hybrid, that is a big plus, so if you enjoy trails with little obstacles I believe it will hold up well and your feet will be happy… BUT, if you like more challenging terrain, moderate to difficult hikes, it’s not gonna last. I’ve had these for not even two months and there is considerable wear and tear on the bottoms and sides. These are not rugged and resilient. For the price I kinda expected more . But it’s ok overall

Uncomfortable

I really like the shoe it is well made but man is it uncomfortable. I have switched the insoles an yet to find anything to make the shoes comfortable. Maybe I need to wear them a bit more and hope they break in. I really was hoping this shoe would be something I could wear daily. It maybe a bit too narrow. Wish it was a bit wider that would maybe help with making them comfortable.

Very good walking shoe

I like these hiking shoes. These are lighter than Moab 3's. I'm a daily walker and these shoes are allowing me to add more distance to my walks. I have a pair of golf shoes that have a similar sole design, that's why I tried these shoes. I will reserve my critique on durability after I put some miles on them. All and all I would recommend these shoes.

My best Merrells so far

I’ve been a long-time Merrell user from the Czech Republic. Over the years, I’ve owned around 14 different Merrell models — some for hiking and rough terrain, some for everyday city use, and a few more casual pairs for situations where hiking boots just don’t fit in. I walk a lot, usually around 12–15 km (7.5–9.3 miles) a day. My typical walking is a mix of flat pavement and forest trails, often with rocks, roots, uneven ground, and steeper slopes. So my shoes tend to get a pretty thorough real-world test. Until now, I considered the MOAB SPEED 2 LTR MID WP the best Merrell shoe I had ever owned. But I recently managed to find and buy the SPEEDARC MATIS MID GTX in Navy Night, and after my first longer walks, I have to say I’m genuinely impressed. On flat, firm ground, especially pavement, I spent the first few kilometers feeling almost like I was walking on air cushions. It’s unusual at first, but extremely comfortable. The cushioning feels noticeably springy and does a great job of isolating my feet from hard pavement, without making the shoe feel too soft or unstable. I also really like the fit. The ankle and instep feel snug and secure, while there is plenty of room in the forefoot and toe area. For long-distance walking, that combination is extremely comfortable for me. The biggest surprise came on rough terrain. I tested them on a steep forest climb full of rocks, roots, and uneven ground. I didn’t slip once, and the shoes felt stable and secure the entire time. The Vibram MegaGrip is excellent in this kind of terrain. That was also where I really started to appreciate how well the FlexPlate, the supportive heel construction, and the overall cushioning work together. I’m not a footwear expert and I can’t professionally evaluate every individual technology in the shoe. But as someone who walks a lot, I can tell very quickly whether a shoe works well for me or not. And based on my first experiences with the SPEEDARC MATIS MID GTX, I honestly think I may have found the best Merrell shoes I’ve owned so far. They’re extremely comfortable on pavement, very secure on demanding terrain, and I also really like the way they look. So far, for me, they’re an excellent shoe.

No regerts!

Slipped them on for a hike around the Little Naches River yesterday. Been nursing a damaged Achilles for six months, yet these hikers were form-fitting, supportive and comfortable right out of the box. The hike was magnificent, if short - just what my soul (and sole) needed.

Very narrow fit

Bought this for work (corrections), boot is very narrow which creates a very tight fit. Lightweight, good grip on the dirt, just wish it wasn't very narrow. I threw away the box and wear them for a few days, so I can't returned them.

Not LEO approved. Unless you want sore feet.

I love the look of this boot but these maybe the most uncomfortable I’ve ever worn. It’s as if you’re walking on the air bubbles on the bottom of the shoe. Not exactly a boot you will be able to wear for extended shifts as a LEO.
