Game Changer for watching outdoor football games!!
I decided to order a pair of Ignik hand warmers after looking at many other brands on the market. I really liked the size (they will fit in my snowboarding gloves) and liked the idea of a dock that I can charge them all at the same time. I wasn't expecting them to become a staple in my wife's winter attire, though. Since it has been colder at night, she has been taking them everywhere with her, and she loves them. They do get pretty warm on the high setting, so she usually fluctuates between the high and low settings. I used them once at my son's high school football game, and they were great. I just kept them in my jacket pockets to warm my core. I hadn't heard of Ignik before buying these, but these warmers are really nicely made and well worth what I paid for them. I will definitely go through REI's website and check out some of their other products.
Charging station is a game changer!
Great idea! My family of snowboarders constantly gets cold. They have every warming contraption known to man. When we go on our annual ski trip, it is always a battle to get all the socks and devices charged up with the limited plugs in the condo and amount of cables that we bring. Charging all the warmers at once is going to be perfect (the case is a nice touch too). I will definitely be buying more of these...probably should have just gotten the 6-pack to begin with! So small I will actually carry them just in case I need them, like i did yesterday on a family hike. I forgot I had 2 in my pockets. My kids were fighting over them bc their hands got cold.
Better Options Out There
There’s a few issues with these hand warmers that resulted in me giving them only 2 stars. Starting off they need to be charged on the proprietary docking station. Having a straight USB-C charger would have been more convenient. Granted with the docking station you can charge them all at once. And the magnetic charging system with the docking station does allow for slightly better water resistance, I would just prefer a non-proprietary USB-C cable. The other issue is the heat. On low it was only getting up to the 80° range. That may seem nice but it’s not really noticeable. On high it got up to 112°, and you can experience first degree burns at 110°. On high you definitely need a barrier between you and the heater. I picked up a different electric hand warmer for comparison and that one has three settings. That one is 115° on high (CRAZY HOT, you will get burned if this has direct skin contact), 105° on medium, and 95° on low. That one is about half the price of the Ignic Ripple too.
