Fast under foot, stable AND powerful at high speed (49mph) and an overall delight to spend the day on.
In December 2025, I purchased a new pair of Salomon QST 94 skis (172 cm) for my son, who took them out for just two days of skiing in Okemo Vermont. After those two days, both skis showed visible top-sheet damage, and one ski developed clear top-sheet delamination near the binding area. I fully understand that some cosmetic chipping can occur from normal ski-to-ski contact, especially in icy East Coast conditions. However, what we experienced goes well beyond normal cosmetic wear. After only two days, the top sheet on one ski has begun to lift and separate (see image) — damage that raises concerns not just about appearance, but about durability and long-term performance. [Note, to be clear, this damage occurred without any major falls or contact with foreign objects - normal parallel skiing on predominantly groomers.] I brought the skis back to the shop where they were purchased, and the issue was reviewed by Salomon. I was disappointed to be told that the damage was attributed to the skier and not covered under warranty. While I appreciate that skier contact may have initiated the damage (via parallel skiing), I find it UNreasonable that a brand-new pair of skis would deteriorate to this extent after such minimal use. My son and I have skied for many years and have owned multiple pairs of skis across brands. I have never seen this level of damage occur so quickly. At this price point, I expect equipment that can withstand normal skiing conditions — especially when used for only two days. This review is not written lightly. I chose Salomon because of its reputation for quality and performance, and I am genuinely disappointed in both the product durability and the warranty outcome. I hope Salomon will reconsider this case or reach out directly, as I would much prefer to resolve this constructively and continue to be a Salomon customer.
I am a huge fan of these skis. I am 5'9" 180lbs and skied the 180cm. This is on the longer side of my length preferences for other skis but these felt perfect. These are my ideal ski for days in between storms. I like to ski all over the mountain but like to jump into the trees or bowls as much as possible. I like to ski fast but fine slowing down when conditions call for it, so I don't need or want the most damp and planted skis. These have an amazing trick where they feel incredibly damp and stable on piste, they make me feel like i can push my comfort zone without scaring me, this isn't all that special but other skis that do this are horrible off piste. But then off piste, its amazing how accessible and forgiving they are off piste. I have ridden the old 98s and the new 100s and felt like thought they both lacked energy and pop. These 94s make skiing fun again. I would recommend these to anyone looking for fun accessible skis with a higher than expected speed limit especially if you don't see a lot of deep (1' +) snow or have another set of skis for those conditions. I will be replacing my Line Blade Optic 96s with these next year. QSTs are as much or more playful and accessible but more stable, essentially a wider sweet spot.
WOW! The new QST 94mm shape is unbeliveable! Incredibly responsive and energetic! The new tail shape make it super stable and so fun to carv. You don't feel the 94mm underfoot as it cut trought the groomer. That make the ski super versatile and a great all-mountain option for most of all skier that want a one quiver ski!
The QST 100 is a versatile all mountain ski. Great for the soft snow, steep technical lines. Powerful enough to be be stable at high speeds. But playful enough -;
Carves well, is forgiving, can handle some fresh snow but still has a good back bone and handles speed comfortably.
Just skied the Qst 94s this morning and they are amazing! Super quick and surfy but holds up great at speed too!
Edge to edge is great, with enough width underfoot that you're not drowning when you find the powder stash
Great demo at Stevens pass. These guys are great!!
