How to Choose Downhill Skis

Most days are not perfect powder days. These Blizzard skis are nimble and predictable, and they really light up on chundery, choppy and icy days. With 96–98 mm waists, they carve like a dream.

I have a pair of Line Vision's, an all mountain ski more geared towards softer snow. I love them. But I came to realize that as a Midwesterner, I'm more frequently on hard pack so wanted to add a ski that leaned in that direction. I went with Blizzard Rustler 9's. I only only got a chance to ski on them once so far but the conditions were "ideal" on one of the last weekends that Lutsen ski area in Northern MN was open. There was fresh spring snow from a few days before but the weather had turned colder with high winds. The snow turned super hard. These skies have some serious bite. They dug in with narry a slide.
