I finally decided to buy my own skis after realizing I’d been up to the mountain so many times this season that I’d already spent what new skis would cost on rentals (and I still wanted to go more!). I had rented this exact ski before and asked for an aggressive all-mountain setup that would help me carve and turn more confidently, while also feeling stable at higher speeds. The Atomic Bent 90 delivered on all of that—and then some. I didn’t go wider than 90mm because I’m mostly skiing groomers and mixed conditions, and I really wanted to prioritize carving and edge control. At the same time, I still wanted something playful and responsive, and these skis absolutely are. I also love the raised tails (instead of a traditional flat tail), especially since I’ve started skiing switch/backwards. Shoutout to the REI crew who mounted my Tyrolia Attack 14 GW bindings (95mm brakes) quickly and cleanly. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on these skis on lift rides, and honestly, they’ve helped me feel more confident and capable on steeper and more exciting terrain. Finishing this season strong—and already can’t wait for next season.
