Garmin  HRM 200 Heart Rate Monitor

It is true that wearing a chest strap to check HR is more restricting that wearing the other options on the market that work around the wrist or arm (COROS), but there is no better accuracy than a chest strap. I have used an older version of this HRM for 2 years and it has always worked wonders. When my wife looked to get another one I wanted to make her feel the most comfortable so thought about a COROS HRM but when we compared, the accuracy did not have legs to stand in comparison with the Garmin. It might be a bit uncomfortable when doing really high exertion activities but if you are interested in the truest data, this is the way to go.

Bought this to link to my garmin head unit (and looking for greater accuracy than I was getting from my watch while riding). I followed the instructions and it connected with no problem. Does a good job, stays in place, mostly comfortable (all chest straps I have used do). A lot of adjustability. I wear a medium jersey/shirt and this fits with plenty of room lengthen or shorten. It turns on by itself when worn and connects automatically. HR with the chest strap, while more accurate, are a little lower than with my watch — so my training session “seem” easier 😁

Better readings than watch. A lot more comfortable than my older Polar strap. And it stays put easily. Haven't had any issues with it staying connected. I use it primarily for running, Zwifting, and sometimes mountain biking. Never had a problem with it.

This heart rate monitor is too complex to pair with a Garmin device, such as a bike computer. I tried multiple times and could not get it to pair, even though I carefully followed the directions. I cannot understand why it needs a button and flashing lights. I'm going back to my "tried and true" Polar heart rate monitor, which is easy to pair and use, without a needless button and flashing lights. This device is not remotely worth the price if you can't even pair it. I am taking this item back to REI for a refund.

Happy with my purchase! Looked at multiple brands for HRM. Specifically wanted more fidelity on heart rate during zone 2 training since my watch didn't seem to be capturing the data that well. This works great and it's easy to wear and adjust. I have forgotten it's there on multiple occasions. Pairs well with my Garmin Fenix.

Great Product by Garmin and I’m completely satisfied with it performance so far since I do a lot of specific heart zone focused running like Zone 2/ Zone 3 so it helps me with a lot.

Super easy to use and put on. Love how much smoother (and accurate) the data is than my running watch/fitness trackers. Great price too.

I have been looking for a HEART RATE monitor. The simpler the better. I thought this was it after on line research and discussion with a sales person at the store. I downloaded the app as recommended. It was not very helpful and I couldn't find anything on heart rate. I spent a lot of time on the phone after that only to find this could not work with my phone as I was told and I would need another device from Garmin which I was clear I didn't want.

- Synced easily with my older Garmin Edge 820. - The ability to change the battery in the future is appreciated.
