Magic expanding Sponges!
These sponges are pretty amazing!! They are extremely compact until they have water running through them then they expand to the perfect size! Very soft but also have an ability to provide a good scrub
Works Great, But Could Use Improvement
This thing does the job and gets you very clean, so I'm glad I bought it. But other than the pump itself, it feels like it was made with off-the-shelf components and it's a bit of a kludge. My biggest gripe is the water control valve. Because the sponge is where you sense the flow, having to dangle it so you can use both hands to adjust the valve sucks. A miniature inline valve with a flip arch, like those on fire hose nozzles, would have made a huge difference by allowing for one-handed operation. Also, the bottle stopper won't go into my bottles -- I mean, WON'T. It's not needed if you can hook the pump to the bottle to prevent it dragging out the intake hose out if anything shifts, though, so this was my workaround. The rig is kludgy, but it works very well if you don't mind a bit of fussing. I think hanging, organizing, and securing all the moving parts in an EMT bag will really help me keep all the moving parts from undoing themselves. Pros: Small! Lightweight. A little USB-c power pack will run it. The wash-up quality is excellent. Uses only a tiny amount of water. Cons: Feels like a prototype. Hard to insert stopper into bottle. (Couldn't do it on 3 different bottles.) Hard to insert hoses into pump. (Hint: a little spit helps a lot, but that's kinda gross if you're sharing.) Almost impossible to get hoses back into plastic bag, as recommended. (Hint: get an EMT bag for it.) Hoses are unwieldy, and can easily snag the pump or power pack if you're not mindful. Water flow valve requires 2 hands to adjust -- which is hard to do with a big sponge in one hand. Sponges don't dry overnight in >50% humidity and will likely mildew quickly if packed away.
