The boots appear to be well constructed. They are stiff right out of the box; kinda difficult to get into them (I've read that heat molding and breaking in will help). Stiffness rating of 6 is conservative. Haven't worn them on-mountain yet, still deciding on fit. I've been wearing them around the house; heel hold seems great. Started with a sz. 9 (same size as my ancient DC Judge's) which were far too big -- foot moved around quite a bit latterally within and pretty much no heel hold. Sized down to an 8.5 which is much better match for my feet. My "keep" hesitation is with one foot, length might be just a tad short (however when they pack out it'll probably be fine). Going to wear them around a bit more before I commit then follow normal recommendations to have them heat molded.
