Excellent construction and design
Excellent construction, great design. Very similar to the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag 13L, except this Exped is perhaps a little thinner material, narrower seam tape and weighs less. You can’t go wrong with either bag! This Exped 13 is available in one color only, but Sea to Summit 13L comes in multiple colors. Like I said, you won’t be disappointed, either dry bag (as long as you understand this type of bag is not designed to be submerged underwater at depth for hours!) The best use for these type of bags is as a liner inside a backpack or non-waterproof pack.
Not a dry bag
I’ve had this for 13 months and used several times but not a ton. The last two times I used it, my key fob, lip balm and phone were wet:/ I used it floating on a tube in the river two weeks ago, so it got very wet and ended up with water I it. This had not happened before. Then yesterday I had it on my kayak where it received several splashes of water but not ever submerged—phone was damp. Fortunately my phone wasn’t in it when it ended up with water in it. I’m really surprised this happened.
Super lightweight and very waterproof!!
I've had problems in the past with my water filtration kit leaking water inside its "waterproof" bag and then slowly leaking through the fabric into the rest of my pack. These Exped ultra drybags are so lightweight, I was skeptical whether they were truly waterproof, so I bought one, filled it with water, and hung it over the sink for a few hours. I returned to find it still full of water and the outside completely dry! I will now be replacing all of my heavier dry bags with these!
